If you're heading into 2026 trying to change 50 things at once, Nikkiey Stott wants you to slow down. Overhauling your water, sleep, workouts, vitamins and stretching all in week one is exactly why so many women feel overwhelmed and quit within a few weeks. Real momentum isn't motivation. It's the quiet kind that carries you forward one step at a time.
Nikkiey explains that most women don't give up because they don't want it badly enough. They give up because they don't trust themselves to follow through when things get uncomfortable or uncertain. That's why fitness is such a powerful training ground. Following a program, fueling instead of under-eating, and committing to a process for a full year trains consistency, self-trust, patience and self-respect, not just muscle.
She then walks through her three-step approach to what she calls real manifestation, not the social media version. First, get specific about what you want, using her five-bucket method. Second, pair that vision with action by asking for the next step within your control. Third, release control of the outcome and timeline while keeping your standards and showing up consistently.
Key takeaways
- Don't try to change 50 things at the start of the year; if you're starting from scratch, begin by folding in a workout twice a week.
- If you're more advanced, pick three things to focus on this week and layer in new habits after about three weeks.
- It's fine to make adjustments a few days or even two months into the year, because what matters is being consistent most of the time.
- If you know you're under-eating, make fixing that daily your one priority over the next few weeks.
- Write specific outcomes, not vague intentions like 'be healthier', across five buckets of life: finances, travel, relationships, personal and professional.
- After writing your goals, ask what the next action step within your control is; you don't need the full roadmap.
- Don't attach yourself to an outcome like a set amount of weight loss in six weeks; focus on keeping your standards and showing up consistently.
- Don't throw a plan away because progress isn't linear or the scale fluctuates; adjust instead of quitting.
Questions answered
Why do I lose motivation a few weeks into the new year?
Nikkiey says it's usually because you try to change too many things at once, such as water, sleep, workouts, vitamins and stretching, and you feel overwhelmed within two, four or eight weeks. She also says most women give up because they don't trust themselves to follow through when things get uncomfortable or uncertain.
How many habits should I change at once when starting a fitness routine?
If you're starting from scratch, Nikkiey suggests folding in a workout twice a week. If you're more advanced, pick three things to focus on this week and start layering in new things after three weeks.
Is it too late to start my new year goals if I'm already a few weeks in?
No. Nikkiey says you can still make adjustments a couple of days in or even two months in, because what matters is that you're consistent the majority of the time.
How do I set goals that I'll actually follow through on?
Nikkiey writes out five buckets of her life (finances, travel, relationships, personal and professional) and lists specific outcomes under each instead of vague intentions. Then she asks what the next action step within her control is, without needing the full plan.
What should I do if the scale isn't moving as fast as I want?
Nikkiey says not to panic if progress isn't linear and not to throw your plan away because the scale fluctuates. Release control of the timeline, keep your standards and keep showing up, and the results compound over time.

Nikkiey: If you are the woman that is going into 2026 right now and you are trying to change 50 things, maybe you're somebody that hasn't worked out, you're not drinking your water, you're not getting eight hours of sleep, you are inconsistently hitting your training program, you're not taking your vitamins, and you try to drink 120 ounces of water, get your workouts in five times a week, stretch, get enough sleep. If you're trying to change 50 things, you are going to feel very overwhelmed in two weeks, if not two weeks, in four weeks, if not four weeks, in eight weeks, and that's why people give up.
Oh man, it's 2026. What's going on, everybody? Happy New Year. If you're listening to this right now, that means you survived 2025, and all of its ups, downs, lefts, rights, the chaos. I've been seeing memes on Instagram of a dog with its hair all messed up: what it looks like if you made it through 2025. So I'm just letting you know that you made it.
Just pause for a second and acknowledge that for yourself. You showed up, you did the work, even if it was messy. And maybe you're going into this next year, into 2026, and you don't want it to be another year of starting over, right? Not another year of being hyped up to start something and not following through entirely, or getting burnt out, or another year of "I'll do better next time." Or maybe just another year of "I want to finish what I started."
If that's you, this episode is for you. We're going to dive into how momentum actually gets built. Not motivation momentum, real momentum. The kind that carries you through quietly and powerfully. You're in alignment, and one step after another just makes sense, and it feels that way. I want to talk through how that gets built, because it's so real and it's so possible. You can do it in fitness, and you can also do it in every other bucket of your life.
But for purposes of the podcast, I'll talk through the fitness lens. I want to talk about manifestation with this, but hold on, pause for a second on that. I want to talk about real manifestation. I don't want to talk about Instagram manifestation, the version you see on social media. Not the think-positive-and-wait version. Not the write-it-down-in-my-journal-and-hope-it-gets-handed-to-me version. Because that type of manifestation without you taking action is just wishful thinking.
And then having the action and doing the things without the belief turns into burnout after a while. This is what I really leaned on in 2025 when I wanted to get better going into 2026. For me, in this process, it's God. For some of you, it could be your faith. It could be your intuition. It could be that you feel an alignment. It could be a higher power. It could be the universe. The principles are all the same. Momentum is created when alignment meets you being obedient with the thing you set out to follow through on.
That's broadly speaking, and I'm going to elaborate within this podcast. What I've learned, both in my life and through coaching tens of thousands of women through WarriorBabe, is that most women don't give up because they don't want it badly enough. They give up because they don't trust themselves to follow through when things get uncomfortable, when things get uncertain, or when things get a little shaky or unsteady, right? That's just a pattern. That's a type of conditioning someone may have been brought up with.
And I believe that's why fitness is such a powerful training ground for this, for how you can get better at following through even when things are uncomfortable, even when things are unsteady. It's because you have that belief, and that allows you to continue to take the action. But like I said earlier, if you don't have that belief, the action is going to turn into burnout. And again, you can manifest all the things you want and not take the action, but that's just wishful thinking. So how can you get in alignment, right? How can you work on this new pattern for yourself in 2026 so that you can follow through when things get uncomfortable?
So that if you mess up, you can get back on track. So that you can follow through to the end of 2026, look back at the beginning, and be like, wow, I followed through on this. And it doesn't need to be perfect, right? It's not an all-or-nothing mentality here. This is why I believe fitness is, again, a very powerful training ground for this. Because when you can follow through on a training program and allow yourself to make mistakes, allow yourself to be messy with it, allow yourself to mess up, dude, you're going to be so much more lenient with yourself.
Not lenient, but you'll give yourself grace in other areas of your life. And you're going to be like, wow, I can actually do this. I can mess up and still follow through. Okay.
And also, pause, let me just add this for a second. If you are the woman going into 2026 right now trying to change 50 things, you are going to feel overwhelmed, right? Maybe you're somebody that hasn't worked out. You're not drinking your water. You're not getting eight hours of sleep. You are inconsistently hitting your training program. You're not taking your vitamins. And you try to drink 120 ounces of water, get your workouts in five times a week, stretch, get enough sleep. If you're trying to change 50 things, you are going to feel very overwhelmed in two weeks, if not two weeks then four weeks, if not four weeks then eight weeks. And that's why people give up. Because you try to change one too many things at the beginning. So if there's anything I can say, maybe start with this. And it's okay that we're a couple of days into the new year.
You can still make adjustments. You can even still make adjustments two months in. What matters is that the majority of the time you are consistent in this new year. Okay. Start with what this episode is going to teach you today. Then maybe fold in a workout twice a week if you're starting from scratch. If you're someone more advanced and you need to really hone in on certain things, pick three things and hone in on them this week. That's it. Then start to layer in new things after three weeks. All right. Don't try to change 50 things. Okay.
Anyway, back to the episode. When you commit to a training program, when you actually follow through week after week, you are training far more than just your body and your muscles. You are training consistency. You are training follow-through. You are training discipline. You are training self-trust. You are training your brain. You're rewiring how your brain navigates things. When you fuel your body instead of under-eating, when you stop skipping meals or starting over every Monday, that's an example of you retraining self-respect.
Especially if you've listened to all 300-and-so-many episodes of this podcast, you know under-eating is not what you should be doing. And if you know that you're still doing it, then it's about taking the action steps to fix that daily over the next few weeks. That should be your one priority. All right. That's a form of self-respect. When you go into this new year and you finally stop chasing the next best quick fix, and you commit to the process a coach has laid out for you, or a new program you're buying into, like an actual, legitimate accountability and support program, and if you're not inside WarriorBabe, then get inside WarriorBabe, when you commit to that type of process, that's you practicing patience before you even know it. When you commit to a year, you may not be saying it out loud, but internally, hopefully, your brain knows you're giving yourself this year to make it happen. It doesn't mean you need to make it happen in the next week, the next four weeks, the next six weeks.
You have the next 52 weeks to figure it out. That's patience, my friend. And the biggest thing, too, is you are practicing faith in something bigger than just the outcome of a number on a scale. This is why I believe working with WarriorBabe, working with a coach, matters so much. Because guess what? Motivation is going to dip. Motivation is going to falter. You're going to have ebbs and flows.
It will. It's going to happen this year at some point. If not once, it will happen 10 times. And that's why your coach is there: to remind you who you said you wanted to become when you signed up for this program, to help you adjust instead of giving up, to help you stay rooted. You following through week after week is you training consistency rather than staying rooted in your emotions. You're now rooted in standards.
And that's where momentum actually gets built. It doesn't get built in dramatic moments. It doesn't get built in all-or-nothing swings or in programs you follow or quick fixes that teach you nothing. I shouldn't say nothing. They teach you something that some people can't latch on to after they're done, and that's why they gain all the weight back. So what I want to do is break down how this manifestation actually works. Again, not the social media version, the one where you actually take action. I'm going to break it down simply.
The first step is you need to get clear, because clarity creates movement. With manifestation, people start making vision boards and start thinking and planning and hoping and believing harder. It doesn't start that way. It doesn't start with believing harder. It starts with you having so much clarity, right? For you, it could pertain to fitness. I want to share a little bit about what I do year over year. But it could be: okay, what do I want my health to look like at the end of this year?
Maybe you get your blood work done at the beginning of January and there are some deficiencies that need to be addressed. At the end of the year, you have the after photo of what that looks like: the after blood work from you taking those deficiencies into account and taking action. That's the type of clarity. Maybe the clarity is that you know you don't eat well or enough, and you want to focus on weight management or losing weight, and nutrition is a big component of that. Okay, then I need to be clear on how I'm going to approach my nutrition for the next year.
That's clarity. For me, at the end of every year, I sit down and write out five buckets of my life. One bucket is finances. One bucket is travel. One bucket is relationships for this year. Typically, I would do health, but now I'm in a relationship that I want to continue to pursue and grow in. The other two are personal and professional. My personal bucket will have my health goals, because really, that's just part of my identity at this point. Those are the five buckets. Under each one, I write exactly what I want to experience by the end of next year.
I don't write vague intentions. I don't write "be healthier." I write specific outcomes. Why that matters is because that clarity tells your brain what to look for. When you name what you want, your awareness starts to shift in so many different ways. You start noticing opportunities that were always there that you maybe just couldn't see before. You may walk into Starbucks one day.
And you may overhear a conversation about some coach who's maybe starting her own fitness company. I don't know. This is how it happened for me when I worked in the emergency room and wanted to help people. That woman was looking for the same thing, for guidance, and that opportunity met. She got help from me, and I started to be able to expand WarriorBabe, right? When you get clear on what you want and you name what you want, your awareness becomes way more open to hearing and seeing these conversations.
Or some of you listening to this podcast, I've filmed your success story interviews. And you were like, yeah, I was talking about wanting to be healthier, or focusing on losing weight and getting my health management underway, and eating better. And I wanted to know what macros were. And all of a sudden WarriorBabe popped up on my Instagram. Maybe it had popped up before, but now that you got really clear on it, you see it louder.
You see it now. The same applies to your job, and to things you're waiting for answers on. If you get clear on what you want, God will meet you where you're at. And He will give you a sign, if it's the right thing for you, to keep stepping forward on that path. And that's the same reason for you tracking your macros and starting to work out. If you start taking that action, other things will start to align for you. This is the thing: clarity creates direction, and then direction creates momentum. So that's the first thing. You just need to get clear on what you want.
Quick break. If you're finding this episode helpful so far, it would mean a lot if you could hit pause for just a second, leave a quick rating or a review, or share it with someone who could benefit from it. Your support helps more women discover these tools to build muscle, lose fat and feel confident. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me.
The second thing is important, because this is where most people get stuck: you have to pair that vision with action. And for those who are deeper in their faith walk, pair it with obedient action. Okay? Where I see people get stuck is they write their goals down, they do their vision boards, and they wait for motivation. Again, let me remind you, manifestation isn't passive. You have to participate in it. So once I write down these goals in these buckets, afterwards I ask a simple question: okay, what is the next action step I can take, within my control, to start moving these things into play? I don't need the full roadmap. I don't need the entire plan. I just need the next step. And I can even pray on it.
Or I can start thinking about it. Maybe I'll think about it for a couple of days, and then I'm met with something: an opportunity, or a sign, or a conversation. This is why fitness is a perfect training ground. You don't manifest strength by thinking about lifting weights, right? You build strength by lifting them, by taking action, picking up the weights and putting your body under metabolic stress to grow your muscle, especially on days when you don't feel like it.
That's why this is the perfect training ground, and the same thing applies everywhere else in life. With fitness, you take the walk to get the steps. You prep the meals. You show up to the workout. You check in with your coach. And then, you guys, when you take the action, that's where coincidences happen, quote unquote. The right person shows up. The right opportunity appears. The door opens. That conversation is had with a friend. You meet someone at the gym and you're talking. These are not accidents.
This is alignment. That's what it looks like. You move, God meets you. And believe this, because I have felt and experienced this: He will exceed what you are even asking for, as long as you take the action that is being shown to you or asked of you, even if it's uncomfortable. That's how you follow through, even when it's uncomfortable.
The third step, and this one, I think, matters deeply, because I still struggle with it to this day: you've got to release control. And you've got to just keep your standards. The thing with experiencing and playing in manifestation is that it's not about controlling the outcomes. You can have clarity on how you would want the outcomes to be, but you can't control the outcomes. A lot of women are like, I want to experience X amount of weight loss in six weeks. Okay. If you are attached to that outcome, you are going to be so dissatisfied.
Because you're not going to get it in six weeks. You can't control that outcome. But what you can control is your standards. Because with that type of outcome, I believe God doesn't respond to desperation. You can't be like, I'm going to lose X amount of weight in six weeks, even though it probably took you 10 years to put on that weight. What He does respond to is you being obedient and being consistent. The universe does the same thing, if that's what you believe in. You don't need to force a timeline. You don't need to micromanage how it happens. And this is where I sometimes struggle in certain buckets of my life.
Because I want the outcome to happen, and the timeline to be on my timeline. But that's not how it works. Again, that's desperation and micromanaging. Your job is just to show up as best you can, consistently, every single day. To keep the promises you made to yourself. To adjust your schedule instead of giving up or quitting. And just to be open to receiving more as you continue to follow those steps.
Be consistent, keep the promises, and keep adjusting along the way. You don't panic if progress isn't as linear as you want it to be. You don't throw a plan away because the scale fluctuates. You don't do that. Because that's, again, you trying to control the outcome of getting to that goal on a certain timeline. You just have to keep showing up over time, and that result is going to continue to compound. You're going to get to the end of 2026 and look back like, okay, I just had a compound effect over the days of this past year, by just showing up, keeping the promises to myself, being consistent, and being met with new opportunities.
And if they were uncomfortable, I leaned into them a little bit. Because, again, think about it like this: they're not coincidences. They're not accidents. If you are met with something that is going to lead you to continue to grow and evolve in your fitness or whatever aspect of your life, that is a test from the universe, from God, to help you advance to the next level. So as we move into this new year, you don't need every answer.
You don't need the full picture. You don't need to become a different woman overnight and change 50 different things in the first week of the new year. Momentum is not built in grand, big gestures. It's built in training when motivation is low and you don't want to. Fueling your body instead of punishing it, giving it the food it needs instead of restricting. Communicating with your coach, if you're working with one, instead of hiding or withdrawing. It's staying within the process, even though quitting probably feels so much easier. And that's why I believe WarriorBabe works: we're not about perfect.
We're not about all or nothing. It's because you're learning how to trust yourself again in that program. Yes, we give macros and workouts, and you have a coach you work with. That coach, I guarantee you, is going to be a huge pillar in why you trust yourself again. I've seen it, with thousands of women. Your fitness journey is not separate from the life you are trying to create. It is literally the training ground for it, in every bucket of your life. Every promise you keep throughout this year will strengthen your integrity everywhere else. If you can keep the promises... and I've seen this, because women have said that because they did the things for themselves within their fitness promises, that strengthened their integrity in their relationships, in their marriage, with their children, at work, with their family, with their friends, and in so many other aspects of their life.
So if you take nothing else from this episode, just take this: get clear on what you want. What is the next action step you can take? Then trust that you will be met along the way. And just show up consistently and keep the promises you made to yourself.
Because you will be honored for your effort. You will be honored for your obedience. And you will be given so much more than you even thought was possible, and so much more than you even asked for. Guys, happy New Year. Happy 2026. I hope you make this the best year yet. Literally, the best is yet to come, if you just take into account some of the things in this episode and start taking action on them. All right.
