00:00I didn't feel like myself. I didn't feel good. It really was depressing, demoralizing. It became a grind. Like working out wasn't fun. And you gave me hope, in all honesty. And I'm strong. It's not like I'm skinny, but I'm really, you know, it was a Hail Mary and it was worth it. What's going on, everybody? Hey, you guys, welcome back. So I've got another WarriorBabe here with us. WarriorBabe Erin, and she's in her 50s. She's a full-time Orange Theory coach and a world traveler and just casually submitted Mount Kilimanjaro, right? That's crazy.
00:31But not too long ago, she was gaining a pound every week and couldn't figure out why that was happening. And like so many women that, you know, you guys listening to this right now who are entering into menopause, she thought that she was doing everything right. She was eating clean. She was working out hard until her body just told a different story. So in this Success Stories episode, Erin's going to share how WarriorBabe helped her shift everything from her macros to her mindset. And now she's stronger. She's leaner. She's got incredible transformation. She's more unstoppable than ever. So we're going to dive into her story. Erin, welcome.
01:07Thank you. Hello. And for anybody that's tuning in and listening to this right now, can you let everyone know what you do? I know I just touched on a couple of things that you do, but also you just said you were a life coach. So let's dive into what you do for work. Where are you located in the States? So everyone can just know that info before we dive in. So about a year and a half ago, I quit the corporate world. I've been in sales for over 20 years. And I decided I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. And I left the corporate crazy burnout and relocated from San Jose, California up to Vancouver, Washington and started over.
01:43And so now I'm a life coach, now a high performance coach, which is basically a life coach on steroids, more about helping people habits and sustainable success, both professionally and personally. So it's the dream come true. And then I also coach Ernest Theory just because I love it. It's just really fun. But yeah, so that's what I'm doing now. Yeah. That's super cool, man. It's like you're never too old to change your life career. You're never too old to get fit, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Got to take a chance. Yeah, absolutely. Okay, cool. So let's talk about where your situation was, you know, before you found Worry Bay with your health and your fitness journey.
02:18Like what were you struggling with, both physically and emotionally at the time? So it was really hard because I actually found rock climbing in my mid 40s, like outdoor rock climbing, like half dome Yosemite and stuff. And so I'd always felt pretty strong. And then all of a sudden, I turned 51 and I was getting a pound a week. Like, like, like, there was nothing I didn't change much. I started trying to work out more, didn't really have the time for it. I was working two jobs at the time, really three. And I was adding on more cardio, you know, all the things we're supposed to do.
02:52I had, you know, trying to eat clean was under eating, didn't realize, you know, all the things that we learned about in Worry Bay. But it was it was brutal. I didn't feel like myself. I didn't feel good. And it affected my ability to climb. Well, it just it sucked. And I was in outside sales at the time. So I was getting steps in. It wasn't I mean, I was a very active person. I wasn't sitting on the couch eating bonbons. I was out there doing stuff and nothing I did was working. And I had never experienced that before. It was really upsetting.
03:24Wow. At what point did you realize that there was something that needed to change? Um, I mean, I'd actually been seeing your stuff on Instagram for about four months before I finally, you know, went, okay. Um, I tried other things, right? I tried to figure it out. And it wasn't working. I was like, well, I found a macro calculator. And it did not work. You know, it wasn't working. Um, there's a whole difference, you know, when you're in your 50s versus, you know, generic.
03:58Um, and, uh, finally, I just it was right when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. And I went, okay, enough is enough. I feel horrible. This is an opportunity. I need to do something for myself. And so I just said, screw it. And I went in and felt for him and went for it. I can't wait to unpack that and what you're thinking in those four months and why it took four months. I'm going to get there in a minute. But I want to, you mentioned that you were gaining, you know, a pound every, a week, even though you're working out what, like three to four times a week.
04:31And you were eating, quote unquote, like decent. Yeah. Four times a week. Oh, what did that? I mean, you sound, you sound like you're a go-getter. Like you're going to put in the work and you were moving around with, with outs. And you're going, what, from like house to house or outside sales or outside sales, hair salons, hence the blue hair. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Got you. But I was on my, yeah. Yeah. So what did that feel like when you were like, I'm doing all the work, well, I'm not getting the result. It was frustrating, a little depressing. I became really self-conscious. Like I'm one that's like, okay, everyone's body tight, whatever it is.
05:05You know, I've been in fitness. And so I embrace all that, but I had never experienced this extreme. I think I got to a point where I weighed almost as much as I did when I was pregnant with my first child without having a baby. So I was just very fluffy. It really was depressing, demoralizing. I mean, when you're trying things and it's not working, um, it, it, it sucks. It's, uh, and you feel almost helpless, you know, like, what am I doing wrong? What's going on?
05:36And then there's that whole, oh, well, this is just what it is. Right. Menopause belly, you know, um, which I'm so glad I can look at my friends and go, no, you don't have to, you don't have to do it. There is that's a bunch of BS, but you know, there's like, is this, is this, there was a point of like, do I have to accept this as my new reality? You know, there's a little bit of that. And then there's a little bit of like, and yeah, so that, that was the big part of, do I accept? And now I'm not someone who accepts, but there was a moment, you know, of, of trying to navigate that. How did I feel about that? And then I decided I didn't like it.
06:12Yeah. Like, it's almost like, did you ever worry that, that, that type of weight gain was just going to be that new normal for you? Yeah. Like it would just keep getting worse. And it, and that, and the thing is, I think in the beginning, I kind of was like, okay, this isn't too horrible. Is it okay? But okay. Week four, week five, week six. I mean, I think I gained 15 pounds. Like, I mean, it was literally a pound a week and it was great. It was, I had never experienced anything like that. And it was, uh, yeah. And then I just, I actually, like I said, it started really,
06:44it just affected my self-esteem, how I felt. Um, yeah, it sucked. It sucked. Yeah. Like, did it ever get to, to the point because, you know, you're very adventurous and you like doing, I mean, just like low key, just summited Mount Kilimanjaro. That's crazy. But that was after warrior rape helped me out. Yeah. But that's, that's amazing. But like the rock climbing and things that you like to do and you mentioned in your forties, like the fear that you would lose the ability to do that. Yeah. And that was, um, look, I have daughters. I want to set an example for them. I just discovered
07:16this, this passion, right. In my mid forties. Um, and you know, that was getting heavier that, and I was getting worried about my flexibility, my, you know, there's a lot involved with weight gain. It causes issues and, um, and getting heavier on the rock is not ideal. And so, um, and again, it was just, I was working out a lot and to not see the results. It also affected my, my, you know, I did it, but there wasn't joy in it. It was more, it became a grind, like working out wasn't fun. And so it really affected my mental state around. I got kind of
07:47resentful, like, okay, so I'm trying to eat right. I'm working out, you know, then there were those days, you know, full honesty, well, screw it. I might as well eat the pizza and then do whatever because I'm doing everything right. And it's not doing me any good. So why am I even doing this? And it became a sacrifice. It just, my whole mind shift. I have a whole mindset around the topic of like health shifted, but I also know how important it is for mental health. And that was where the concern came in where I went, okay, I've got to do something. Yeah. Yeah. It's frustrating, disheartening when you think you're doing all this work and you're not getting where you want to be.
08:20Yeah. As I was running straight into a brick wall. It would, did not feel good. Yeah. Okay. So let's talk about when you discovered where you view. So you, you sat on it for four months. I'm going to say, um, guilt of investing in myself. I think a lot of women, especially moms, like to spend money on myself, to put that time on myself. Um, we're, we're, we're told that's not that's selfish. Right. And so I think that for me was a big part of it is, is, is guilt. Am I really
08:55going to go and spend this money for only me? And, you know, now I've a total different mindset. What I've done is actually helped my kids and we can talk about that in a little bit, but that investment was the best thing I ever did, but it took me that long. And also like, you kept talking about menopause, right? Cause I've had a nutritionist in the past and it was, I actually went back and looked at my old stats. They didn't work anymore. I guess it grows. Like even within warrior, babe, I couldn't go back to what I was doing at the
09:25beginning. Like I, you know, my coaches changed me, but, um, yeah. So I think it's just, it was guilt of investing in myself, but I've also learned that when I invest in myself, that's when I take it seriously. Um, if it's free, if it's a little like free webinar or whatever, and they just tell you enough, no, I need the accountability. If I didn't spend that money. Yeah. I'm going to get off my butt and I'm going to go do that workout. Yes. I'm going to count my macros and make sure, cause this is an investment and I'm not throwing that. That's not from that
09:56money down the toilet. So that was a shift for me, um, that I didn't recognize until I started the program then. And it was like, Oh, that's my own aspect of accountability that I wasn't expecting. And it was like, Oh yeah, damn straight. I hit my macros. Yeah. It was like, it was a price tag, like kind of like shell shock at first. It was like, it was, it was, but then I did it divided by 12 and you know, I just, I, you know, I, I, and I had to justify it. So, so one heard about it finally got the information and then it was like,
10:29and it was the best thing I ever did. I love that. I signed up for a second year. I mean, I'm in my second year. Yeah. That's awesome. Oh, I love that. I love the way you just broke that down too, because I know a lot of women are going to really resonate with that, especially the guilt aspect. Yeah. Like you've got moms, like wives, they put themselves, they put themselves last and they're not making themselves a priority, but I can't wait. We're going to definitely, uh, pin that there and circle back around how it's made such a positive impact, um, with your family and your, and your kids. What made you finally say yes to warrior beam?

I couldn't stand it. And you gave me hope in all honesty. It was that
12:11you spoke to the men, like you, you, you spoke to what I was dealing with and I was like, wait, like I'm a badass, damn it. But I'm a fluffy boss fellow right now. Like there's a badass under here somewhere, but you just gotta like, why do I feel that through my core area? And I know exactly what you mean. It's like on the outside, like your personality is a badass, but your body doesn't show it. Right. So it was a Hail Mary, you know, and it was worth it, but it was, it was like, okay,
12:43I can't. And I had, I had moved and, um, I just went enough is enough. I'm, and for me, it's like, I'm starting this new chapter and I want to go into it feeling good. And if there's a chance, this is it. And so I grabbed onto it like a lifeline. Yeah. Oh, I love that. Um, my mind went to, I asked a lot of warrior babes this question when I'm on these interviews with you guys. Um, you know, you found, when did you find us about like, uh, probably it'd be, um, so it's 2020, I started signing up in 2024, but probably like earlier in the year. And then I
13:19signed up, I think I finally pulled the trigger in June, May or June of 2024. Okay. So like you're listening to a 30, a young 30 year old talk to you about menopause. Why did you, why did you believe a young 30 year old who, you know, yeah, right. I hadn't been through it. Right. 100%. And that was about, you know, but you, you had facts like on your Instagram, the things that you shared where you'd obviously researched it. Right. And like with me being in,
13:52and I was skeptical because I've been this life coaching, then high performance coaching world. So I've been on these calls with people that just decide they're going to coach people because they're passionate about it with no, no background, no training, no nothing. So for me, I do really do my research, especially if I'm going to spend that, that amount of money, you know, and you just, you had a lot of credibility plus physically, obviously you, you'd done the work, but your content was very factual. And, and you had, um, the reviews, right. The results, the, the,
14:27the babes that came out to say, Oh no, this absolutely worked. And a lot of those women, like some of their bodies, look, there's fake stuff, AI that's been happening on Facebook left and right. You're like, I'm sorry. No. But when you're seeing these real people on your website or like going on a Reddit, you know, I, I went down a rabbit hole and it was enough of a credibility that I went, okay, she's done a research. She knows what, what she's talking about. And again, you were the only one that happened and you had a reputation by that point too. Yeah. Yeah. There's nothing that drives me worse when a fitness coach,
15:00if it may be a year into their journey says that their fitness coach wants to help women, nothing drives me wild about that, you know, but that social media nowadays now, but I love that, that you did your research, you looked around, you, you know, saw that there was actually real lives being impacted by this. Yeah. And this company, um, what were some, like when you started your journey, what, what I, you know, you got assigned to your coach, you started to embark on what they were, you know, your coach was telling you to do. What was your initial, like first couple of
15:33weeks as a warrior, babe? So it's actually kind of funny. So, um, the flip from cardio was hard. So I was, I was actually going to be doing, and I did, so I did Machu Picchu in September of last year. And then Flamandjaro was in February. And so, you know, first it was great. I had, you know, I've been lifting, you know, I, I, I meant orange theory, like, but I'd prioritize cardio and I'd been grabbing the same weights. Right. I was one of those, like grabbing the same weights and whatever, just, I love that honesty. Yeah. I mean, and by the way, not anymore, like now and the,
16:06and in my class, I, I mean, that back weight rack is empty. Like it's going to be a better coach. Let me tell you that. Um, but like, I, I actually had weights at home and then I graduated quite quickly to having to join the local gym. Right. Like I didn't, what I had at home was not going to work for me. And so, um, it was great. I felt sore in the best way. And actually, you know, I think at that point I wasn't eating enough, you know, it, it was hard. I'm not going to lie. It was hard because I had grown up with so much bad information, you know, and you know, it's calories in calories
16:42out. Like, yes, but no, like, no, I'm eating 2000 calories a day right now. Like, wait, what? Like, are you kidding me? Did you ever expect that was possible? No. Being the age that you are eating 2000 calories and getting the results. Yeah. And I'm working out four days a week, you know, and then I'll throw in a hike on occasion. Like anything extra is when it fits in for fun, like with a friend, but I work out four days a week, 40 minutes to maybe an hour. Like, like I'm blown. Yeah. Like it's, it's not, I work out less and eat more. And I probably,
17:22I look and feel better than I probably have. I mean, maybe when I was 18, you know what I mean? But like, and it was just dumb luck, but like, I feel good. I feel, I mean, it's, it's awesome. Like, um, I had, so Mount Baker is a big mountain here. And I decided back in August, I needed to take some mountaineering. I live in the Pacific Northwest. I need to learn some of this. And I signed up for three weeks before. Didn't do anything. I didn't look at the training. Cause I work out. I went people that went there. I mean, they'd been training for four to five months for this event. And I was like, oopsies. That's fine. Because, and I was the oldest by a good 20
17:59years and I had no issues. So, and again, I'm not doing anything crazy. Like I'm not training for Kilimanjaro anymore. You know, I'm just, it's my workout, but the bone, like I'm strong. My reflexes are so much better, you know, like that whole, um, or rolling an ankle. I'm not going to break it. Right. Like I'm, I'm strong. And so when I trip or when I do this, I mean, I'm on, I mean, it's not like being old. I'm just a, I'm a klutz sometimes, but it's, it's, it's, I'm, my reflexes are good. I've impressed myself sometimes, you know, the glasses fall and you
18:32catch them. I have muscle. I'm strong. I just, I don't know. I feel that the fluff is gone and the bad-ass is out. I love that. Yes. What did it look like when you joined to, you know, you were under eating and not eating enough beforehand, what did it look like to climb up to 2000 calories for you? Oh, well, um, it was hard. I mean, I was like, I have to eat more food. Like I first, like after dinner, I'd be, cause I wasn't good about planning totally the night before. Now I have my whole system down, but in the beginning I was, um, you know, trying to make
19:07maybe different meals and, you know, navigating it. And all of a sudden I'd be like, Oh my gosh, I have to have another like 20 grams of carbs. And, you know, you know, how am I getting more food in my body? This can't be right. You know? And, and you'd say, trust the process, trust the process. So I did, you know, um, and I've been through, we, we, we did, we got me back up to maintenance. I did a cut with some crazy stuff going on in my life, but I'd have to go off a little bit and then I'd be very disciplined and come back on. Um, and then now after my cut,
19:39I'm again, it's insane. This program is insane. It's magical. You are a gift to the world. I have to tell, I mean, I have friends that I just, I look and I go, go visit and you know, they're having this small little thing of oatmeal with three berries for breakfast. Maybe they skip lunch, you know, and dinner and it kills me and people will only, they have to be ready. They have to be ready to hear it. So the, you know, they'll say you're just lucky. Like, no, this is work. I, I,
20:09I have an app every, every night, every, I mean, I'm in that thing five times a day, you know, making sure I'm getting all my macros and I make it a game. It's fun, you know, but this is, this is work. You have to put the effort in, but it just, it killed, it just hurts my heart, you know, because they're going to the doctor and getting all these tests done. And I'm just like, stop getting on the bike. Stop. You're like, just pick up some weights. No, not five pounds, you know? Um, and let's, let's get you to eat more food, but it just goes against what I was raised with in my generation.
20:42Yeah. Yeah. I don't want to feel that way. They followed all of the diet trends that were saying eat less and move more back in the day. And isn't it crazy that now it's like eat more, move less. It's totally reversed. Oh, I had a hard time. I fought Stevie on the, like, are you sure? Not like not more cardio. I'm going to be like hiking for five days, like 12 months. Are you, are you sure? And I kind of, you know, like it was nervous and yeah, it was great. Same with Kilimanjaro.
21:12Yeah. So let's talk about that. Like what are some, since you joined worry, babe, where are you at now in your journey? And like, what are some of the cool things that you've accomplished? Like Kilimanjaro. So, I mean, Machu Picchu, it, you know, it's not very high elevation gain. It's just your high altitude and long days. So that, that was fine, but still everyone else did crazy training and I just did my workout plan, you know, and Stevie kind of humored me with, all right, we'll give you 20 to 30 minutes of general cardio twice a week. You know, I was like, are you sure? That's it. You know,
21:43if you do orange theory, like then only do one 20 minute session, like, you know, so it was, it was hard, but I, and I, I didn't listen to the beginning and I was like, okay, I'm tired. I got to listen to her. And so I did and it paid off. And then for Kilimanjaro, same thing. I mean, it was specific exercises. I've bad, I had bad knees, no problem. You know, having all that muscle around really helps. Um, and, um, and then just, so yes, Kilimanjaro, I was the oldest. I mean, I was with 30 somethings, uh, one, um, one of them is in her
22:17forties, but otherwise, and we had an, um, with that said, we had a brutal snow storm or a windstorm destroy our camp on summit night where we were told we couldn't summit. We had to all sleep in the mess tent because our tents were destroyed. It was the craziest thing. They'd never had this happen before. And, um, so no sleep. We were like, it was a rough night. And then about six in the morning, it kind of died down a little bit. And so we, they, five of us, only five of us made it. Um, we were able to go, but we had had no sleep for 24 hours. Um, only three and a half liters of
22:51water to go up and then halfway down the mountain. So it was a 12 hour day. And, um, I had cheese, it's and peanut M&Ms and that was it. So I at 52 years old was up there and we, and because no one, because the windstorm destroyed everybody, we were the only group at the top. So we were dancing, doing cartwheels, you know, before we came back down again. And that's not, that's a unique experience and not, I got, you know, other people couldn't do it. And I was able to do it. And I,
23:21again, 52 years old. So inspiring. That's crazy. You make me want to go try and summit Kilimanjaro. So it's amazing. That's so inspiring. Um, and you also crushed a 2000 foot climb in, in Banff, right? Oh yeah. Um, so we, um, had that one and that was really cool. And that was when, yeah, I'll took out my car the first night, uh, but we duct taped it together. It's fine. Carry duct tape in your car, by the way. I'm sorry. What is elk? What? So, um, I learned my adventures by the way, everyone watching this, just keep duct tape in your car.
23:53You never know you're going to need it first night out. We're driving. It's Canada is beautiful, but it's at night and an elk just takes out my front bumper. Like it's off the ground. I'll just kind of looked at us and kept going. Um, you're in my territory. Like 100%. Oh, I had a, I had a Ram try to ram my car the next day. It was my car was bringing on some big animal energy. I don't know what was going on, but we are, you know, foreign country late at night, no cell service duct tape the car. So we had a late night, but the next morning, yeah, I hadn't climbed in almost a year just
24:27because of the life change I've been doing and, and Kilimanjaro kind of took up some of my, my thought process. And, uh, we had a huge climb. Um, yeah, uh, three days in a row. And it was, I was tired, but I actually wasn't even sore. Actually, if I think I was not even sore. Um, and I was with someone that's about eight years younger who does it for a living. And, um, I'll just be honest at one point as we're hiking, cause I mean, these are long approaches and you have your gear on you. These aren't like pull off the side of the road. And he was breathing
24:57pretty heavy. And I was like, yep, I'm good. I love that for you. It felt good. Yeah. I'm older and I haven't been doing it. I feel awesome. Yeah. And dude, what does it mean to like, for you, what does it mean to like live in this level of strength, like to be able to do those things? Like it's life-changing. I mean, it's my confidence, um, resilience. It's allowed me,
25:28like, I remember the first time like being, being in Banff and being in these areas. I mean, there's grizzly bears and I got to have these cool experiences. I got to have an elk take out my car because I am strong enough, which is a funny story then that I am strong enough in my fifties to go rock climb in Canada in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I was able to summit Kilimanjaro. Like I'm able, I'm going to go to Greece next year and rock climb. Um, I can't say the word that when one of the remote islands, and those are not things I could do.
25:58My family, my parents didn't do that. You know, they, they, my dad golfed, right? That was his outdoor exercise. My mom had none, you know, she didn't even walk. It was just, it was sort of like, remember, I mean, you know, over 40 over the hill kind of a concept. And that doesn't have to be that way. Like my life just is getting better. But if I wasn't strong, if I wasn't eating healthy and taking care of my body, that wouldn't have happened. But another huge reason I'm doing this and I'm going to, you know, I don't mess with your flow. I have daughters and I know what it was
26:30like for my mom, when my grandma had to go into a home, right? Just physically, it shut down mentally, all the things. And I know that doing new experiences really helps with the brain. And I'm doing new experiences all the time because of my body, because of my nutrition. I don't want my daughters to have to worry about mom in a home or my, my health. I'm taking care of myself the best I can. So that investment is reducing my future medical bills. That investment I made in warrior babe is reducing mental stress for my daughters. I have a 19 and she'll be 20 next in a couple of weeks and a 21
27:03year old. Like, and I'm, and I'm setting a role model example, you know, not only did I just change my job, but who has blue hair and is climbing a Kilimanjaro at 52. There are women out there that do it. I met some of them out there, but not a lot, but they're like, my thing is there should be more. There can be more, you know? And so if the 30 somethings can see this and hear about it, right? The forties that start going, Oh, I'm over the hill. No, stop that. Cause I didn't find warrior babe until I was 51. Yeah. You know? So, and I got, there's a part of your why. And I love that
27:36so much. That's why I like, I'm glad that you recircle back to that. Cause about the investment, like you were guilty, you felt guilty of making the investment for yourself because, you know, very foolish. Yeah. Selfish putting yourself last, but how has it, how circle back to that? How has that investment been, how have you turned into a role model now for your family and your daughters? It's, um, they think it's fricking cool, you know? And it's, it's, and I use this to say like, you can do anything like, so don't get stuck in a rut. Don't do, I'm very big about the shoulds.
28:09Like don't do what you should do, what you're supposed to do. Got to handle your heart, your gut and balance some of that out. Um, and so hopefully I'm breaking some of those generational bad habits or examples. Um, and that it's okay. Like, I don't want them sacrificing for their partner, um, in an unhealthy way. Right. There's, you know, and, and the mental load, all the things that happen and it's okay. It's not selfish because the more I have in my cup, then the more I can pour
28:40into others. I've been drained. I've been divorced. I've dealt with all of that. A lot of moms out or women babes out there will know, like when your cup is empty, you're empty. And when you're trying to fill from an empty cup, that's just not good. 1000%, you know? So like, but so I've become better. The more I do for me and this, not just this and then how I feel, but then this allows me to do all these cool things. I'm, I show up better for the people in my life, my friends, my, my, my client, everything. It's, it's, and I didn't, I didn't know that going into it. And it's a really
29:13cool after effect to recognize. Doesn't it cause the worry, it causes you not just only in fitness, but it causes you to think and act differently. Doesn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But a lot of that is you, you have so much training, you have so much support, you know, like with the, with the, you know, the videos and the huddles and, and, you know, it's, it's a lot out there because you'd need the education. I did. I thought I didn't. Right. I I'm in fitness. I was cocky. Right. I'm in fitness. Just tell me what to work out. Tell me what to eat, whatever, but the mental, you know, I'm fighting my coach on, no, I should do more cardio. Or are you sure I should be eating
29:48this much? Like questioning her. Look, she's so patient. So kind with me. He's incredible. So good. Um, but she's like, Aaron, trust the process. Fine. But then when you start to get that information, you know, and then you have to understand it's like, Oh, Oh yeah. I was, yes. It's so different now. Right. So it's that support to also help it be a mindset shift that stays. Yeah. And it's that accountability that you were mentioning earlier too. Yeah. You know, accountable every week. It's not just like, you know, here's your program. It's like,
30:21yeah, exactly. It's like, are you following through on it? Yeah. And like, you know, and then also, you know, challenging you in the thought process of like the cardio aspect. And are you sure it's like, you know, you bet you have a, you have a, it's somebody to bounce off. Like it's your partner in crime. You know, essentially those are walking the same road together, you know, which I would, that would leave me in my next, like, how has your experience overall working with your coach? How has that shaped your journey? I couldn't do it on my own. You know, I mean, I know what to do,
30:54but well, no, actually I just, I didn't know what to do. I thought I had to do, but like, I know how to lift weights or whatever, but one, I don't want to figure it out. I need someone who's going to tell me to figure it out. And she's the professional on this, right? I don't, I know how to lift the weight. I know proper form because of what I do, but the programming is priceless. Um, and, and the nutrition to be able to look at it and to understand what's working for me is not going to work for someone else who is 52, five foot five doing whatever. Like it's that
31:26individual, um, attention, which is really helpful. And then having those monthly check-ins where we talk face to face, but then we have the message app. And so I can reach out and say, Hey, this wasn't working or, you know, I'd hurt my wrist doing something. And so she gave me some ideas of what I could do around that and, you know, working with me through it. Um, so, but it is, it's accountability, but it's also, like I said, I, I need to be told what to do. If my mental load and a lot of women, the mental load is just, it's, it's mentally overwhelmed. So tell me what to do, you know,
31:57just please. Thank you. Like if that is worth every penny right there. Yeah. It's, it's, it's nice. You don't have to figure it out. You just literally are told like, here's your workout. Here's what you need to eat. Here's your numbers. Let's hit it. And let's talk about it on a monthly basis and catch up on a weekly basis on your check-ins. Yeah, it's perfect. And I just thought like this week is a new project is a new program. It's always so much fun in the beginning. Right. And so it was walking lunges or the Bulgarian split squats. You're going, okay, I paid for this. I know, but it's so good. Oh my gosh. Do you ever go to a CV and be like, I absolutely hate this
32:28exercise. And the next thing you know, it's in your program. Don't, don't, don't poke the bull. That used to be my favorite thing when I coach clients, I'd be like, Oh, like that. Okay, here you go. Here's five cents of it, by the way. Oh yeah. That last round was like, Oh, Oh, I miss. Okay. And like progressive overload, like understanding about that. I was never doing that. And it just has made a difference and I'm cut and we're going to start a build for me probably here in the next few weeks. So I get to do that one next. And what's funny is we just had our check-in
33:02yesterday and realizing even with the weight I'm going to gain in a build that I want to, like, I want to get bigger right now, you know, and we'll do a little cut afterwards. It's still, I will not just pause on that. You just said, I want to get bigger right now. I want to get bigger. I want more muscle. I want my stomach. I want, I want more. Yeah. I almost ever imagine yourself saying that like, like to see there's no woman says that I was, and I'm strong. It's not like I'm skinny, but I'm, you know, I'm lean. And I said to her
33:33at one point, I think maybe we need to stop the cut, right? Like who does that? So I can't wait then. So I'm, we're all good. I feel like I'm no, I'm strong as heck. And, um, we're going to go in the build so I can get bigger. And then I, and I, I'm very excited about that. You know, I want those last, I want the arms. I want, I like looking and feeling strong. It just matches your personality. Thank you. It makes me, it's really though what it does in here, right? Like I'll go all day
34:06without looking in a mirror, but when I literally, my glasses, I can catch them before they fall on the ground or someone needs help. Like, no, I can pick up my own suitcase, you know, and with one hand, lifting cred mills at work or something that I read that. Oh yeah. So we, um, at, and I will be us. So I'm the oldest coach by about 20 years. Right. But they don't treat me that way because I don't, you know, I can hold my own. So we, once a month we do a deep clean and we deadlift the treadmills to move them to clean behind them. And so the first time I was just like,
34:37okay, we're going to see how this goes. And I'd been in warrior babe, fortunately for like two months. Right. Thank goodness. Cause I don't know if I could have done it prior. And yeah. So now it's like a, it's a badge of honor. Like, yeah, we, we deadlift. I've, I pay my dues and I just pick those babies up and it's, and now we kind of compete for it. It's, it's fun. It's a rite of passage. Wow. I love that. That's incredible. Your soul story is amazing. Um, there was one thing that going back to talking about you saying that you felt that it was selfish. What I wanted to ask you
35:09was, would you, how would you redefine that now? Would you, how would you like, like thinking about like, I, my terms, like, I was like, wow, it's actually more selfless because now you are filling your cup up and you're pouring it into everybody else. It's, it's recognizing that there's a ripple effect that the more, um, cause I mean, I was, I was cranky. I mean, there's, there's no way I was, like I said, I was depressed. I was frustrated. Um, and that at the time I was still a sales manager and I was, you know, just quite short, didn't have as much patience, you know, all, all the things,
35:42it just doesn't feel good. And so when you feel good and I have energy, you know, so I, like I said, for me, it is worth the investment to recognize the ripple effect that the better you are, the more you can give to others. So it's this weird selfless cycle, but we just, we've got to make that mind shift. Right. And this is so important. And then it's your health. It isn't about how I, you know, looking around. I'm trust me. I like, I got muscles. Like it feels good,
36:13but that's not where it started. It's about my health. And that is ultimately where it goes to, again, my kids, I want to be a role model. And I also don't want them to have to, you know, as I get older, I don't want them worrying about me. I mean, my, my parents that, yeah, it's a whole different ball game and I want to change that cycle. Yeah. That's such a beautiful, beautiful why. I love that. One last question as we wrap up this interview together for anybody that's watching this right now, listening to your story, maybe they're in the same spot that you were in before you started Warrior Babe. What would you want them
36:46to know? It's life changing. There's nothing like it. It is. It's, it's, it's, it's so worth it. Um, like I said, I signed up for a second year and I, and I, when I want to do it, it was going to be one year. Okay. I'm going to do this investment and the value. It took you four months to even like, you know, like this is legit. And like, I'm in the life coaching business. Like I'm in that world and I see all the charlatans out there, you know, or, or people just, they're passionate, but they
37:17don't, they don't know what they don't know, which is even scarier. Right. Right. Um, this is a legitimate program that was life changing. I was gaining a pound a week. I felt bad. I outside my inside, I was covered in marshmallow fluff and now my energy, uh, my clarity, the way I look at the world, um, is almost like freed up mental space for more of what matters because I'm not worrying about this part of my life anymore. You know, my nutrition and my health are great. It just, it's that right there. I love that free up the mental space. Yeah. It's so thought consuming.
37:55And so as you get older, you think about, you know, the, as you get older and you feel like your health is declining. And so that's a big thought thing to consume your mind. Yep. And you go down the path, you start looking on one. And next thing you know, you have too many tabs open on the computer because you're looking at these different ways to try to figure things out or, Oh my gosh, does this mean that I'm, you know, menopause belly is here to stay. And someone tells you to drink lemon juice with cayenne and water as you're, you know, and then it's going to burn the fat away. There's just, there's, there's crack me out.
38:30There's just so many out there. And I know enough to know not to do that. Right. Like I have enough. So, but for this, again, I'm eating 2000, I am 52 years old, eating 2000 calories a day, working out four days a week. My workout today took 40 minutes. And I didn't rush. And that's a stretch that I add on a stretch in the beginning, a little, you know, and the stretch at the end, like that, that's it. You tell me you don't have to eat 1200 calories and work out five, six days a week for three hours a day. Nope. And run five miles. It actually, I have a friend, um, we talk about like, it hurts my heart.
39:03There's a couple of people at the gym, no matter what time I go, that they're there. Right. Like they're there. They're the, and, and the three hours, like you are there, they're all the time. It's like, what else? I don't have time for that either. So it's a priority, but within just like eating healthy as a priority, just like, you know, meeting with a friend is a priority. My health is a priority, but for an hour. Right. And then I can come back. If, if this was a, Oh yeah, you got to do it for two to three hours. No one can do that, but you, you can do an hour as it be, make it that priority.
39:38Yeah. And you got to do with intention too. Like a lot of people just kind of mosey around the gym and they're trying to go through the motions, but you're going, you're showing up with intention. You're getting it. Oh yeah. And if I don't see who's going up, you've been lifting the same weight for a while. What's going on? Remember overloading? Like what, what's happening with you? Oh yeah. You're a hot guy. Love that accountability. Yep. Cool. Well, Aaron, this has been such a pleasure hearing your story and just like, you know, you've had such an incredible transformation within the, within the program, but also just
40:10getting to know you as a human and hearing like, you know, your go getter determined mentality. I love, um, and all the women that are listening to this, like, you know, Aaron's story proves that you don't have to starve yourself. You don't have to over-train. You don't have to settle for, you know, getting weaker as you age or letting your health like continue to decline. Like you can, you can, you see, you hear Aaron talking, like she's thriving, thriving in all aspects of her life at 52 years old. So, and she's accomplished so many cool things. Like I'm literally going to pick your brain after reading off this and be like, what's your training for Kilimanjaro? Like you're inspiring me. Um, but seriously, thank you for being here. Thank you for
40:44inspiring the listeners that are listening to this and thank you for being a true warrior, babe. I appreciate you. Thank you. This was really fun. I appreciate it.
