00:00I wake up, I eat my breakfast, and I get to work. And I'm like halfway through the day, I'm like, shit, I forgot my vitamins. What's going on, you guys? Welcome to The WarriorBabe Show with Nikkie Stott, co-founder of WarriorBabe. And on this podcast, we talk about mindset, methodologies, and tactics that will help you lose body fat, build muscle, be strong, and feel insanely confident. I am your host, Nikkie Stott, and welcome to today's episode, episode number 45, where I'm going to talk about supplements.

00:34And I'm going to share a couple of recommendations of supplements that I personally love and have used my entire journey, and that have helped benefit me in my results. And when I say benefit me in my results, supplements are not something that are going to get you your results, okay? I need to preface this at the beginning of this podcast, getting right into it. What is going to get you results is hard work plus effort and consistency.

01:05That is going to get you the results of building muscle, changing your body composition, all of the things that you want to do. What I want to talk about today and the things I'm going to recommend are things that are going to benefit you and your results. So I'm going to share some protein powders that I love, some carbohydrate powders that I love, some natural pre-workout energy boosters that I love, some vitamins that I love, recovery supplements, all of the things. But before we do dive into you guys, 150% transparency right now, I am not going to speak or recommend a fat burner,

01:46lotions, or like any chemically enhanced supplements, okay? Here on this podcast and what I preach, what I teach, what we guide our warrior babes on is hard work, consistency. That is what will forever get you to where you want to be with your body, not any special supplement, okay? And I know that I just preached that, but I need it to just like nail that into your brain.

02:22So if you're here because the title got your attention and you are hoping that I'm going to recommend a fat burner, that shit ain't going to happen here. Your best fat burner, my friends, is doing the work, okay? Going in, strength training, but most importantly, getting your steps in, doing the cardio that's recommended in your plan. That is your best fat burner. Getting on the treadmill, getting on the Stairmaster, whatever is allotted to your cardio for your plan, that's your best fat burner. On top of strength training and doing the things that are going to build more muscle, which is another fat burner,

02:55having more muscle to your body helps you burn a little bit more fat, helps you do your metabolism, all of those things, okay? So nothing outside of hard work and consistency is going to be the number one thing that's going to get you the results, okay? All of the things I'm going to share about our benefits today. And I want you to know for the entire course of my entire journey, I have barely, barely taken any supplements. For the most part, it's been majority protein the eight years I've been in the industry and that I've been on my journey.

03:27But I'm going to share with you guys some of the things that have helped me gain the results, okay? Not give me the results, but gain them, benefit me in getting them, okay? And one brand that I love a lot is First Form. So a lot of those things and a lot of the things I'm going to talk about today are First Form products. So two of the protein powders that I would recommend that I personally love to use is the Vegan Power Pro. Why I love the Vegan Power Pro is because, and you guys may resonate with this, is that, and I'm going to put the links in the bio below this so you guys have access to be able to get your hands on

04:01any of the things that resonate with you here on this podcast and you want to give it a try and a go. But why I love Vegan Power Pro and why you guys would probably love it too as well is that it's super easy on the stomach, okay? For me, anything that's whey or dairy-based sometimes upsets my stomach. So their Formula One isn't something that I would normally go for. I would normally go for the Vegan Power Pro. But if you have no problem with, like, how your stomach feels afterwards, if you don't have any type of, like, a lot of people experience bloat after drinking any type of whey protein powder. So if that is you, then I would steer away from the Formula One and I would try the Vegan Power Pro.

04:36But if you don't have any of those problems and you love whey and you enjoy whey protein powders, then Formula One is their whey-based protein powder. They're isolate. So there's two. One thing that I want you guys to know too as well with learning about protein powders is that there's isolates, there's concentrates, and there's, like, a hybrid of the two. Isolates are meant, and, like, you'll see it, whey isolate. Like, that's on the, that is on the bottle. You'll see that. That means that that is a very fast digesting protein.

05:09Okay? So it's best to have that type of protein around your workout before or afterwards. I personally always do it afterwards because it's immediately going to get digested fast and into the muscle recovery stores all of the things to start the recovery process for you. The other one, the concentrate, is more of a meal replacement. So you guys will hear people have these types of protein powders either as a meal replacement throughout the day or before they go to bed at night because it's a slower digesting protein.

05:44So it mimics that of a meal replacement. It's going to make you feel fuller for a little bit longer where the isolate is going to be digested super fast. And there's reasons why you would have an isolate around your workout and why you have a concentrate somewhere else. So those are two things. Now, my favorite, I wanted to share flavors too as well if you guys are wondering, oh man, what kind of flavors should I try out? What type of flavors should I go get? So for the Vegan Power Pro, and this again, protein, I love their chocolate mint cookie.

06:15It's so good. Or like iced oatmeal cookie or one of those two flavors. Those things are bomb. And I have tried the Formula One, so I don't want to completely knock it and not give you guys some flavors that I would recommend. I love the chocolate milkshake or the Looptie Fruit for more of like a sweeter taste. Okay, so those are the protein powders that I would recommend. So I'm now realizing too, as I'm speaking on this podcast with you guys right now and sharing these things, that I just call the protein powder concentrate.

06:46I meant to say casing. So casing proteins, there's isolate proteins, there's casing proteins. Those are the two main different protein powders. So excuse my concentrate. I don't know where the hell that came from. And know that I'm speaking to more casing. Casing is that slower digesting protein that people often take as like a meal replacement supplement. And again, the isolate is more of the fast digesting protein that you would have around your workout. Okay, next up, next supplement that I would love to speak to is a carbohydrate powder.

07:16So I love ignition by first form. It's so easy to put into your post-workout shake. I have thus shifted though to more fruit into my routine. So you'll see me share on my Instagram stories, my protein shake after I work out. And it's usually a protein shake with fruit in it. But I love using ignition here and there sometimes. I've used it for years on end. But the benefit of having this ignition like carbohydrate powder, I should say, instead of like any type of food like rice cakes or faster digesting carbohydrate sources is that this too acts as those same things.

07:57So what I mean by that is the ignition acts just like the food that you're eating, whether it be a fast digesting carbohydrate, because the ignition is a fast digesting carbohydrate source and has the same effects as like a banana or fruit or, you know, all of those things that have, that give our bodies hormonal responses in terms, that give the needs of our bodies hormonal responses in terms of recovery. So it's a fast-acting carbohydrate. And the best time to consume this carbohydrate is you can have before you work out too as well.

08:30But I want to preface here with protein powders and carbohydrates. Powders, you don't want to rely on artificial sources that aren't packed with tons of nutritional value. So you always hear me preach that you should have maybe like one to two sources of protein powder that are artificial in your day max. Like I would totally aim for just one. But I know protein is really hard for a lot of women to hit.

09:02So if you have to have like a protein shake, maybe two or like a protein shake in a protein bar, fine, that's going to help you hit your protein numbers. But remember and make sure that majority of your foods are coming from whole food sources, not artificial sources like what I'm speaking to today. So ignition, best time to consume it is I would recommend immediately following your workout as opposed to prior. Like I would have a banana or some type of fruit or rice cakes or anything like that. But this like ignition or this like carbohydrate powder, it starts to facilitate the recovery process faster.

09:36So typically what I used to do is I would mix in this ignition carb powder with my post-workout protein shake. So the protein powder that I just shared with you and this I would mix together. Hey, hey, just want to drop a huge appreciation to you guys listening to the show. It means a lot. I hope you guys are enjoying it and there's so much more to come with it. If you are enjoying it, hit the subscribe button. I'd appreciate that tons. And also it would help this podcast reach others who need to hear these messages too. Thanks so much, guys.

10:06Let's get back to the show. All right. So that's a little bit about the carbohydrate sources and carbohydrate powder that I would recommend. Again, ignition is a really good one from First Forum. Now I want to talk about natural pre-workout. So guys, pre-workout, man. If you want to take a pre-workout, I am not going to tell you no. Okay. But I want to help you out with things to look out for. Right. So I want you guys to really make sure you're reading the labels because these pre-workouts

10:41can be made up of a shit ton of shit ton of a different stuff. I don't know if I just said that right. But they can be made up with a plethora of different things. And, you know, this is why I personally steer away from pre-workouts because they make me feel like they make me feel weird. There's beta alanine, which if you guys have read this on labels, maybe you guys like this. Some people do love this feeling. I don't. It makes me feel so weird. But it's like that itchy sensation that you get all over.

11:11So if you don't like that and you don't want that, make sure you're reading labels and you're taking anything that steers you away from beta alanine. And then you want to make sure that you're understanding how much caffeine is in this freaking pre-workout. Because these suckers can load in one scoop, can load a shit ton of caffeine. Um, I know there's like, uh, in the pre-workout ones I'm going to share with you, uh, for first form, there's like over 300, 400, uh, milligrams of caffeine.

11:43That is a lot of caffeine. That is like, it's like two. I drink a nitro cold brew every single day. And I want to say that's almost like two of those in one sitting. Okay. So just make sure you guys are reading the labels. I'm not going to tell you not to take a pre-workout. If you want to take it, go for it. But just make sure you understand what you are taking. Okay. And again, I would just steer like, I'm like a big espresso person. Like if I need an extra boost of my day, I'll take a shot of espresso. That's super natural. But like, I'm weary with the pre-workouts.

12:16Just need to preface that. Um, but two of the two that I would, or one of the ones that I would recommend, um, is Project One from First Form. That one is their smoothest pre-workout that I have tried. And it has like a balanced, um, smooth energy blend makeup. So you won't feel like you're like getting all those shitters. So it will give you, um, the energy, the focus, the strength, the performance, all of those types of things within your workouts. There's also another one called, um, Alpha Surge.

12:49And this one is a non-SIM pre-workout. If I remember off the top of my head, that one I really do love because non-SIM and anything that is a non-SIM pre-workout because it is what it, it, it is what it sounds like. They don't have all of those things that are going to flush you with stimulants. It's a non-SIM. So it's just a little bit of those focal things, um, that will help you with strength and performance. Um, when you're inside of your workouts, there's a little bit more of like a nootropic almost, right? For your brain. I love, I would gear, steer more towards those.

13:20And I would like any of the hardcore pre-workouts. That's just my personal opinion. Um, and then I know you guys are probably asked like, what are like some BCAAs that you could recommend, Nikki? And first form has a great blend of BCAAs or, and if you guys don't know what BCAAs are, they're essential amino acids that your body requires to operate. So they increase, uh, muscle protein synthesis, increase muscle growth, and they decrease muscle fatigue and help with recovery processes after your, your inner workout.

13:50They also have, um, like 21 of the branch chain amino acids, lysine, the last chain of the amino acids, isn't really found in all of the other things. So it helps you to, um, have that last branch chain of amino acids, which helps to, uh, fulfill on those, all of those other, all of those other amino acids too, as well. So, and BCAAs too, the reason why I love BCAAs and I would recommend it to you guys. Sometimes I go through periods of not wanting to, uh, drink water or hating the taste of water

14:22and just how bland it is. So just throwing in BCAAs into your, into your daily, like, you know, water consumption can really help you to consume a little bit more water. But BCAAs are great. Again, they'll help with protein synthesis. They'll help with increased muscle growth. They'll help with like decreased muscle fatigue. So along the terms, and, and you'll feel a little bit of fuel from them too, as well. They don't have any types of caffeine makeup in them, but you'll have that type of, um, you know, just sustained energy throughout the day. So those are some things that I would recommend in terms of like pre-workouts.

14:55I'm not going to tell you not to take them. If you'd like to take them, go ahead and try them out. Just make sure you're reading the labels. There's nothing wrong with like a little bit of expressive throughout your day to give you that extra boost. Um, and then I recommend a few of the pre-workouts I would try and also the BCAAs. So next I want to talk about like digestion, total recovery, vitamin recommendations, um, those types of things. So there's glutamine, which is a great powder to throw in to your post-workout shake with

15:25the protein powder that I recommended and the carbohydrate powder that I recommended. Glutamine is like that, uh, immediate recovery, like faster recovery type of supplement, right? So you throw in one scoop of it post-workout and that's going to help aid in your recovery process among all the other things that I also shared too, as well. Um, their micro factor stack with vitamins is great. There's a plethora.

15:55I can't remember off the top of my head, all of the things that are in micro factor, but that's their daily vitamin dose. And they come in like a packet of like 10 different vitamins. Um, it's got the multivitamins. It's got, um, like a bunch of other things too, as well. I can't remember off the top of my head. So that's a really good, um, stack. And then I'm going to talk a little bit about digestive enzymes. So a lot of people have a hard time breaking down some food sources. And this is where I will lean a little bit towards the digestive enzymes to help you digest

16:26things a little bit better. Um, I'm not going to totally like say, Hey, you should totally go to this. I should, um, you shouldn't totally try any of these. It's just, maybe it could help facilitate some movement. Um, if you cannot, and you feel bloated after you eat, um, a big heavy carb meal, or you feel bloated after you eat your meals throughout the day, digestive enzymes help to help your body digest that food a little bit better and to push that food where it should go into your body. Um, but like me, my brain is like, okay, there could be another root problem to that.

17:00And this is just a symptom solving that problem. But there may be a root cause beneath that, that you may need to get checked out by a doctor why you can't digest those things a little bit better. Right? So that's what I recommend that you do. Don't solve just for the symptoms, solve for the root problem. Um, and then their daily greens and daily reds are really good. I stopped taking them, but I remember when I did take them, man, you could feel a boost of energy, um, throughout your, within like 30 minutes of you taking the greens and reds. And they're so tasty. Some people absolutely hate the way that they taste.

17:32Um, but I personally love the way that they did taste. Um, I, I, I'm such a person that's like, I need to stick to a routine and keep solid to the routine with vitamins that I take. Um, so it's been hard for me to find a consistent routine with fitting those guys in because I'm just like, I wake up, I eat my breakfast and I get to work. And I'm like halfway through the day, I'm like, shit, I forgot my vitamins. So, um, but you guys will hear like a lot of people that are with first form talk about the opti greens and opti reds and they help with digestion. They help with energy.

18:02They help with inflammation. They help with all of those things. So those are a few of the things in terms of recovery, digestion, vitamins that I would personally recommend. Um, so that really encompasses again, you guys, like all of the things that I shared with you, they're not going to get you results. They will help benefit your results, especially if there's anything that I, that I share with you in this podcast today. And what I would recommend that you guys do go and try is at least the protein powders, because if there's anything that anybody struggles with, um, it's getting protein in and their

18:32everyday routine. So, and everyday like eating habits. Um, so protein, I would definitely go click the link below this podcast, check out their protein powders, vegan power pro or formula one. Um, they even have natural protein powders that just have stevia inside of it. So I would definitely go and check those out, um, for sure. Hands down. So that wraps up that podcast. Again, none of these are going to get you results. They're going to benefit you. The results keep in mind, hard work, consistency, that is your payoff to the results that you want

19:04to see. So I hope this podcast helped you guys know a little bit more about what supplements I would personally recommend, who I would recommend it from. So definitely go check them out and I'll see you in the next podcast. Real quick, the only ask I could ever have of you guys is to help spread the word so we can help more women lose body fat, build muscle, reach their goals and feel insanely confident. And the only way we can do that is if you rate review and share this podcast. So the single thing I ask for you to do is if you could leave a review, it will take you

19:3510 seconds and it will mean the absolute world to me and may change the world of someone else.
