00:00The way that you shorten the distance between you and your desired objective is by you behaving like that person that you see in your brain, then you taking action as that person will be taking action as you see in your brain. Yo, yo, yo, what's up, you guys? Welcome back to The WarriorBabe Show with Nikkie Stott, co-founder of WarriorBabe. And on this podcast, I talk about mindset, methodologies, tactics, and all the things that will help you lose body fat, build muscle, be strong, and feel insanely confident.
00:33I am your host, Nikkie Stott, and welcome, you guys, to episode number 41 today, all about trusting in the power of pursuit. And it's really important, if you have not listened to Monday's episode yet, where I talked about establishing your why, to listen to that episode. And also, at some point, listening to episode four, which is, you know, talking about who you are wanting to become. Because episode four, episode 40, and today's episode really marry together in you being able to trust in the power of pursuit a little bit more.
01:09And, you know, wishing and thinking about who you want to become, that's really like a passive exercise that you're doing mentally. And you're envisioning the person that you are, you know, the achievements of that person that you're trying to become, the goals that you want to accomplish. And then having your why backed behind that is just, you know, an energy force that gives you the energy, puts the mental energy in your brain, and like starts wanting for you to take action. But today is like marrying the two mental activities of envisioning you want to become and establishing your why and turning it into the power of pursuit.
01:48And then trusting, most importantly, in that pursuit that you were on to become that person you want to become and why you want to become that person that you want to become. And all of the goals that you want to achieve with building muscle, losing body fat, getting more strong, being more confident within yourself, it has to involve you taking action. And like, man, I know I talked about it numerous times in podcasts before, but like if you could just get action tattooed like on your wrist or like write a permanent marker action on your hand, action is your best friend.
02:22You can have all of these thoughts, all of these visions, you could have your why of your kids, the why that you establish if you listen to Monday's podcast, you could have all of those things. But those things won't come into fruition. They won't be a part of your reality until they are actually pursued. And actually being pursued is by you taking action. When you guys do that, the world around you behaves so much differently when you actually take action to go after what you want.
02:54Like think of it like this. The things that you have achieved up until this point, right? Maybe you already have gotten to your goal. You've gotten to some point of a goal that you've wanted to have within your body. Maybe it's a body fat percentage or maybe you've ran a marathon before. Maybe it's because of the job that you have today is what you decide. All those things are what you decide to go for, right? So up until this point, any of those things as an example that I use are things that you decided to go after, decide to go for, decide to achieve the job that you have.
03:27You put work into doing that. You took action to do it. Running a marathon, you train for it. Having maybe a goal already that you've accomplished, you've put action towards doing it. Positive action is what got you to achieve those things. And maybe there's other things like examples I'm not sharing, but think about it like, okay, think for a second. What have you achieved up to date today, up until this point? Maybe it's outside of the body that you want. It's the job. It's the kids. It's the marriage. It's the family.
03:57It's the house. You put action into doing those things, you guys, right? Positive action is what got you them. The thing is, like what I talked about with the mental activity of becoming who you want to become and establishing your why, that's kind of like wishing, longing, wanting, envisioning, desiring. Those are not the same as pursuing your goals. Those are the mental states. They're fun.
04:28They play an important role in the process of you getting to your goal and achieving your goal, but they're essentially passive, right? So like their mental states, their activities that you go off and envision in your brain, right? And you think about this or vision boards, you know, it's all things passive. It's all things in the future that you're envisioning for yourself and then your want, obviously, or your why is why you want to pursue those things, but they're mental states. They give you energy, but energy is then has to be embodied and then delivered through action, right?
05:06So you can't, there's so many people, and I'm sure you can either think of this towards yourself or your friends and your family who just wish that they had a better body or wish that they had better health or they want to achieve, you know, losing 10% body fat. They want to achieve becoming more toned, you know, especially with summer coming up. Oh, I want to, I want to look good in a bathing suit. These are all just things, right? They're like, okay, in your brain, they see this body in a bikini, which probably they see their body now.
05:42And then you got in there, not as motivated to take action because they feel like summer's coming up really super fast. But like, if you can switch that in your brain to seeing a more physically fit, healthy body, that's step one, becoming who you want to become. And then, and obviously all that is back behind health too as well, having a better health for yourself. And then, you know, establishing a why, oh, you want to feel more confident or you want your kids to see you pursuing this goal that then they're inspired to do those things later in life.
06:12And trust me, you guys, you know, they're watching you. I have younger siblings. My brother has watched me compete since 2015 and is now doing all of the things to put things in alignment for him that is in a better trajectory for him building more muscle and being more physically fit and healthy and all that stuff. And I like to pride myself that I'm a role model in that. But anyway, so like those kids are watching you. So like those are all mental states, right? So you're envisioning a bikini body. You need to switch it and see a more physically fit body because obviously that's not where you are right now.
06:45But you can be there in your brain and then your why behind it. Now, those are all mental states. Yes, they play an important role, like I said, in the process of you becoming and achieving your goal. But they are essentially passive. You could just sit on your couch and you could think about all of these things, but they're passive. Pursuit, on the other hand, you guys, is active. You pursuing the goal that you're envisioning in your brain is active. Reaching for your goal is behaving like that person that you want to become.
07:18Like if you are where you are right now, where you're not in the state and the vision that you are envisioning, right? Like a physically active, maybe you're like overweight and you're feeling self-conscious about your body or you're not happy with where you are. You have to behave differently to achieve a physically fit body, okay? You can't be eating, you know, shit food and think that you're going to achieve the vision that you have in your brain of who you want to become. You have to behave differently.
07:49You can't eat shit food and behave and then behave and behave in the same way to get where you want to in your brain. It's like not possible. What's that definition of from Einstein? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again, expecting different results. Like you can't eat shit food and then become physically active. You know, maybe at some point down the road, you can get away with being a little bit, you know, more lenient with your diet. But at the beginning right here and right now, you have to change a lot of habits that aren't supporting you, aka you have to behave in a different way. Reaching for your goal is behaving in a different way.
08:21It's moving in a different way. It's taking action. And then that, you guys, doing those things, behaving and moving, it shortens the distance between you and your desired objective. Hey, hey, just want to drop a huge appreciation to you guys listening to the show. It means a lot. I hope you guys are enjoying it and there's so much more to come with it. If you are enjoying it, hit the subscribe button. I'd appreciate that tons. And also, it would help this podcast reach others who need to hear these messages too. Thanks so much, guys. Let's get back to the show.
08:52So I spoke in episode four of who you think about who you want to become and who you want to be. It's like when you have that vision, okay, but you're here now, but you have the vision in your mind. The way that you shorten the distance between you and your desired objective is by you behaving like that person that you see in your brain. Then you taking action as that person will be taking action as you see in your brain. Literally, like it's like mind-blowing, but like so many people don't maybe have this self-aware of that you are literally in that control.
09:29You literally have that control to close that gap and shorten that distance between you and your desired state. But you have to think about who you want to become. You have to have the why behind it because the why is everything I talked about on Monday. And then you have to take the action. And that's today. And that's why I'm saying you have to marry episode four, episode 40, and today's episode, episode 41 together. You have to first take step one of thinking about who you're going to become. What is that person doing? What is that person saying?
10:00What is that person? How is she acting on a daily basis? What is she wearing? I don't know what her gym clothes look like on her, right? She look bomb? Hell yeah. Okay, so then you need to start behaving like her. Is she meal prepping on a Sunday or a Wednesday or all of this stuff? Like is she making better decisions when she's traveling or going out with her friends? Is she saying no to situations? Think about that. How is that person achieving that goal? And then you shorten the distances. You literally right now in present state acting like her. It's like it's as easy as I'm saying it.
10:34And I'm also saying that with a lot of energy backed behind it because that was me in 2015. I had this vision. I wanted it. I had a why behind it. And then I pursued it. And I did it super fast. When I had the help of somebody as a professional and knowledgeable in the things I wanted to accomplish, I shortened the distance big time. What made me struggle for a long time was not knowing what I was doing and bouncing off the wall and wanting to bash my head into a wall. And I was trying all of these things and it wasn't working.
11:05Episode one is all about my story, you guys, if you want to listen to that. But anyway, right? So like you have to – that's the big thing I want you guys to know. The trusting the power of the pursuit is like if you have this vision and you have the why, it's like, okay, cool. Trust yourself to then go pursue what you're envisioning. And the way you're going to do that and shortening the distance between the desired objective is action. But the thing is, is like too, like most people confuse like I want a better body or I wish that I look this way as pursuing.
11:39They – people confuse like, oh, but I want this and I wish that as actually like with pursuing it. So their like desire for a goal might be super deep. But when the desire fails to produce, right, like everyone thinks – everyone wants and everyone thinks. And then they just like sit back and they just like sit on the couch and think about all this, all of the passive stuff. And then when something fails to produce, they think that they can't get that goal or cannot be theirs. So all people do is want, want, want, want, want.
12:11Or maybe they have tried to take action and it's failed. And like I talked about failure in an earlier episode, it's just an opportunity to learn and get better. But most people fail and they stop, right? So they like want, wish, take action for a week, think it's not working and that goal cannot be theirs. And then so they keep just wanting, wanting, wanting, wishing, wishing, wishing. It's all mental. And then they don't put the action behind it because they're afraid of failing again. And I talked about failure in an earlier episode. So if that's you, definitely go listen to that. I forget – I think it's embracing the outcome of failure, embracing failure or something like that is the title of the podcast.
12:48I would highly recommend that one too as well, especially if mindset is something that you guys have to work on. Because if you can't get your mind right to pursue the goals that you want, you're going to be wanting, wanting, wanting, wishing, wishing, wishing all the time. And these couple episodes that I'm dropping here, 440, the one about failure and today, dude, packed with tons of value. And it's up to you to take what I'm saying in those episodes and actually pursue and take action. Okay? So all of those people, it's all the mental behind it.
13:19Wish, wish, want, want, fail, keep wishing, keep wanting, don't think they can achieve it. And guys, I always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always say actions – and you guys know the saying – actions speak louder than words. So everybody that I see that says, I wish that I had this or I want this, I'm like, what action are you taking? Literally, sometimes I will be as blunt as saying that and direct as saying that. Because it just creates a pattern interrupt. Like maybe I'll say this to my family or maybe I'll say this to my close friends or people that I, you know, go dog walking.
13:54Or this woman came up to me. This is a great story. It was like really warm here a couple weeks ago. And I was walking Maverick. And I come inside and she's like, oh, man, I wish I had a body like yours. And I was like, you can. And she was like, oh, you know, no, I can't. Like, you know, I forget exactly. I've put it on my story. But she was like, just walking to the exercise room exhausts me. And I'm like, that's a start.
14:27And then it was just excuse after excuse after excuse with that. But you know what I mean? She wanted this. And I was like, you can do it. Maybe not even so much as looking like me. But like you can still. She was overweight. So like and it clearly if exercise walking to the exercise room exhausts her, she could she could just keep doing that daily, daily, daily. And then she would probably get a little bit healthier and a little bit more cardiovascular energy and endurance to pursue her goals. Like you can do it. It's just you have to get the fuck out of your own way.
14:58And the way you do that is by actions speak louder than words. I want this, but you're not doing the things. Like, guys, like that's you. And you're wishing and wanting all of these things, but you're not doing the things. Like, what the hell? Like actions speak louder than words. I want this body. Cool. What are you doing about it? I wish I had this health. Cool. What are you doing about it? Are you eating shit and drinking alcohol every week? Are you actually saying no to alcohol, drinking a lot of water and getting getting out of quick sleep?
15:29That's action. Actions speak way louder than words, you guys. I just stand behind that so much. And I believe in it so much because I've seen it and I've seen women turn their whole health trajectory around by taking supporting action and not wishing, wanting and hoping. So pursuit is what makes all of the difference. Action is what makes all of the difference. Actively reaching for what you want alters the odds immediately and drastically of you getting what you want.
16:05Your goals that you want require you to be on the offense of your own team. You can't achieve what you want from a defensive posture, you guys. And I feel like that woman was defensive. She had all the excuses, excuse after excuse after excuse. You may have excuse after excuse after excuse where you're playing on the defense. You, if your goals that you want require you to be on the offense of your team running through the defense, you can't remain in a passive stance and make any goal achievable.
16:45You can't remain on the defense and where if you think about it, you played sports. Defense usually just kind of stands there. And then when offense comes or defense just stands there and they block, they block all of the coming, you know, to get to the goal. Right. So you're just blocking yourself from getting to the goal. I know. I know there's like offensive or there's the other team and all this stuff. But think about it like that. The goal that you're trying to get to, you're blocking. Okay. You have to be on the offense and you have to be powering through the defense to get to that goal.
17:21Right. So you, you can't remain just a passive. I hate it. When I played field hockey, that's, that's what's coming to my brain right now as I share this analogy with you. I fucking hate to play. I never played defense. I was middie. You know what middie is? Middie is a, is a person. The one on the field running all over the place, trying to get to that ball, get that ball into the goal. And that's how you have to be. You have to think about it like that. You have to play on the offense of what you want in your own life and be on your own team, driving towards that goal.
17:52You have to move. You have to act. You have to do. You have to behave as your goal. You have to place trust. And this is where it comes in trust, power, pursuit. You have to trust in your own action. And a lot of people that's scary sometimes because people are afraid of success. What does success look like? What if I fail? Guys, nothing can be more better for you than where you are right now. If you're not happy right now and you're struggling with wanting to be with where you want to be with yourself, your body, and your health, success will feel good.
18:30You will feel so much better about yourself, which is all that matters, you guys. You. You're doing this for you. You'll be so proud of yourself. And you'll be so much further off in a better way than where you are right now. So don't be afraid of success and what it looks like. Don't think out into the future of what happens when X, Y, and Z. Be present now and take the action that you want. And then if you fail, learn from it. It's an opportunity to just switch something up.
19:03Okay? So that is all I got to say with trusting in the power of pursuit, you guys. And I want you to marry episode 440 and today. And then if you need to listen to episode around failure, I forget what number that is. Listen to those three, four. Because I guarantee you with at least I think maybe there may be a max hour, hour and a half. Dude, by just putting that hour and a half, the value payoff for you is huge.
19:36If you start taking the action of how I'm sharing with you in the podcast. And that's all I ask you guys to do too, by the way. You listen to this podcast. What are you doing afterwards? Are you taking the action? Or are you just waiting for the next podcast to release? And like me hyping you up and getting you motivated. Right? Like all I ask of this podcast, you guys take what I'm sharing with you and you do something about it. So go do something about it today. Real quick.
20:06The only ask I could ever have of you guys is to help spread the word so we can help more women lose body fat, build muscle, reach their goals and feel insanely confident. And the only way we can do that is if you rate, review and share this podcast. So the single thing I ask for you to do is if you could leave a review. It will take you 10 seconds. And it will mean the absolute world to me and may change the world of someone else.
