Why Running More Wasn't the Answer w/ WarriorBabe Nausheen

In this episode of The WarriorBabe Show, Nikkiey sits down with WarriorBabe Nausheen to share how she broke free from the endless cycle of cardio,...

Full transcript

00:00I've done cardio and strength training, I guess, if you want to call it to that extent, but not to the level it is now. And it seemed to work for years and it was fine. I had no issues with weight. And then after having my son a couple of years after that, I essentially lost whatever weight I did gain with him, which wasn't a lot. But then gradually, year after year, like two years after he was born, it kept creping back up, like you said. And I couldn't understand why that was happening. Even my son, like he knows that I track macros now and he's five. And so he's like asking questions about that and like wanting to eat healthier.

00:32And there's just been so many instances with him where, you know, he made his own little sheet because he sees me using MyFitnessPal. So he's like writing stuff down that he's eaten or like draws it and then puts like a checkmark next to it saying, oh, this is healthy. Like stuff like that. Let's talk about your results. I have lost 17 pounds since I started, which I didn't even know I had that much to lose, which I was just like, man, that's a lot. So what's going on, everyone?

01:02Hey, you guys, welcome back to another story that I have amazing warrior babe here with us. And I'm sure that you guys will hear yourself in her own story today. She's going to share with us. Nushin has been doing before she found warrior babe was doing like everything that she thought she was supposed to be the right way of doing it. Like working out daily, piling on cardio, pushing harder, but her body just wasn't responding the way that she was hoping to. And after having her son, the weight just slowly crept back up.

01:35And no matter what she did or where she was doing or what she was trying, nothing seemed to be really working. Now, you know, we'll unpack all of this with her and her journey. But now she's stronger. She's more confident. She's no longer chasing that number on this scale. And she's building muscle and she's feeling her body properly and becoming a role model for her family. So today you guys are here to hear her story and get to hear straight from her. Nushin, welcome to the show. Thank you, Nikki. I'm like beyond excited to be here. Before we record, we were just catching up and getting to know each other and just a lively spirit and such good energy.

02:15So I'm excited for you to just everyone to get to embrace that today. So welcome. I'm excited you're here. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. So let's just go back before you found warrior babe and taking us to the version that you were, you know, before finding us like what, what's your story? What were you going through at that point that led you up to finally realizing like, hey, something needs to change? Yeah. Yeah. So kind of just running back. I had my son back in 2020 and when COVID hit.

02:46So at that time it was, you know, before then I was obviously just still working out. Cardio was kind of like my go-to. And so avid runner would always go out and run, done several half marathons, even did a marathon once. And then after that, didn't try to pursue that again, but a bunch of half marathons. At least you have to crop it off your list, right? Yes, exactly. Did it once. Yeah. And so cardio was always kind of my thing. And I resonated really well with you when you first said you started out with your journey and had your Pinterest boards.

03:18And that's exactly what I did. So like, you know, so I would go in and start looking at different exercises for upper body, lower body, different body parts. And kind of just started there. But, you know, comparing all of those workouts to what I'm doing now, I felt like that was more so just in the motion and not really challenging myself to do better, to lift heavier and knowing that I can do it now. And so that was kind of like the biggest change. And so I've done, you know, again, cardio and strength training, I guess, if you want to call it to that extent, but not to the level it is now.

03:50And so and it seemed to work for years and it was fine. I had no issues with weight. And then after having my son, a couple of years after that, I essentially lost whatever weight I did gain with him, which wasn't a lot. But then gradually, year after year, like the first two years after he was born, it's it kept crepping back up, like you said. And I couldn't understand why that was happening. I, you know, I thought that I didn't change the way I was eating. I was working out even harder than I was before. And so what was the reason that that was happening?

04:22So it's just really frustrating to think that you're doing all the right things, but you're not getting the results that you're wanting. And so at that point, I was just kind of like very frustrated mentally, physically. My husband, who's my biggest support, he realized it and said that, you know, something's going on and we got to figure something out. So we started researching and, you know, went online and I came across your ad on I think it was Facebook. And so I just started listening. And I know like the target audience were, you know, 45, 55, 65 year old women.

04:53But that didn't derail me from like listening to you further just because I felt like what you were saying was real and genuine. And so I just wanted to like listen to it further and then learned about your podcast. So before joining Warrior Babe for an entire year, I listened to every single episode and, you know, wanted to learn from that and understand what it is that you were saying and the message you were trying to get across. And, you know, I would come back and like talk to my husband about it. And I was like, oh, you know, this is what is actually happening or this is what I need to like probably really be looking into. And at one point try to even like calculate my own macros.

05:25And so it's just like I need I need some professional help. Like there's at that point, I just like I don't think I'm doing the right things. Clearly, like my body was not what it used to be. And I think I struggled more so because I never had a weight issue. And then all of a sudden having to deal with it and not fitting in my clothes. And it just felt like I wasn't I wasn't myself and I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin at that point. And then a lot of it was, you know, I was even thinking back to like, does it have to do with the pregnancy? Like because that was one of the biggest like scary thoughts that I had.

05:58And then, you know, just seeing how that kind of resulted in my relationship with my husband and my son was was not was not sitting well at all. Yeah. Well, kudos to you recognizing something wasn't working and that you needed to do the change. And also for a whole year listening to episodes. That's amazing. And putting things into action yourself and traffic. You were just so hungry to figure it out. And, you know, you implemented the action, which thank you. Because, you know, episodes I say, don't just listen to me. Yeah, you're blue.

06:28Yeah, like actually do something about it. Do something about it. But thank you for doing that. I'm sure there's one thing that I want to peel back and unpack in that that you're mentioning. Like you felt like you were doing everything right. You felt like you were working out. You were running. Like were there any specific maybe that you can look back at now that were that were keeping you stuck knowing the answers that you have now? Like what do you think you weren't doing that you're now aware of that you're doing now? A hundred percent nutrition and recovery.

07:01I think those are the two biggest things that I was missing. Nutrition in a sense that I mean, I could honestly like this is probably going to sound so ridiculous. But I always thought like protein was just for bodybuilders. And like, oh, they're just, you know, taking protein to build muscle. And obviously I don't want to look like I'm bulky. And so that's not for me. And so I never consider that that's one of the most essential macronutrients you need every single day to build muscle and, you know, change your body composition. So that's that's been a game changer for for sure.

07:33And I've never tracked calories or macros before joining Warrior Babe. But I definitely know that that part of it was missing because I didn't eat as much as protein as I do now. And then from the recovery standpoint, like I know you've talked about on a lot of your episodes about spiraling where if you miss one day, you know, you want to start over again the next week or whatever. Or like you just let it kind of linger. I was the opposite. I felt like so if I missed a workout, I'm like, oh, man, I got to go make it up. And so like I wouldn't give my body a rest any day.

08:06So instead of even like so typically would work out six days and then this would be a seven day add on or at times would even work out two or three times a day to like check it off the list. Like, oh, I did my workout, you know, for this week. And so I think it was overdrive. And I didn't I didn't stop to even think about like I can't just be on go, go, go mode every single day of the hour. And you're not alone. All of those thoughts that you have, though. I have the chills when you were talking about the protein equals like, oh, bodybuilders just eat protein to build muscle.

08:37Like a lot of women feel that way and a lot of women don't eat enough protein. But it's interesting to hear you say like, yeah, well, I just like I didn't want to get too bulky if I was going to eat protein. Yep. Yeah. Did you end up getting bulky from? No, no, no. I feel so strong. I mean, that's just it's one of those things where it's just like if you don't have it, you crave it at this point. Like, it's like, all right, where is where's my chicken? Where's my Greek yogurt? I need this stuff. And then not. Yeah. So you you were almost working out multiple times a day, every day doing tons of cardio, doubling up on sessions.

09:10OK, let's talk about that for a second. How did that make you feel physically and mentally doing that back then? I I feel like, again, from a mental standpoint, I felt like, oh, yeah, I checked the box and I did it. Physically, I was exhausted. I was tired. I was out of energy. I just and knowing especially if it was like a Sunday, knowing like I'll have to get back on track on Monday. It was a whole other week. And so like I did more and more and more, just kept piling it on, thinking that like this is this is the way to lose weight.

09:42And it just it just wasn't. And hearing that is like you met you mentally just pushed through. You're such a go getter. Just learning that about you're hearing that you say that you have such a go getter mentality that you will override the exhaustion that your body is trying to tell you like, hey, I'm tired. But no, I'm going to go. I'm still going to go. Yes. Yes. I've I've done that multiple times, multiple times. And so that now I'm curious, like how many how many days a week are you working out now in regards to like you what you're working out then? Five days a week now versus seven.

10:14And then there's even times when Coach S has been so, so good and flexible about this where I've told I've got access to a gym at work. And so we've in my phase right now, we've compiled it to where two days I'm in the office. I'm able to go to the gym and get like access to gym equipment. And then the rest of the time I have a gym at home. So then I use equipment that I have at home. So she's made it that way to where I'm not mentally like, you know, exhausted or putting undue pressure to say, like, if I don't make it to the gym, I'm still going to be able to get my workout in at home.

10:44And so that's been such a relief as well. And that's been amazing. Yes. Was there any resistance that you had to overcome with training so much to then your coach being just being like, yo, you got a real back, girl. You can't be doing this much. Was there any like, like any like nerves or like I'm so used to training this way? Like, yeah, let's talk about that. It's been, it's been hard. It's been hard to not do so much and like to not feel guilty afterwards to say like, okay, it's fine to rest.

11:16Like this is what you need to do. And so she's, yeah, she's programmed it to where like I'm essentially like having to take two days of rest and recovery. And when, and even then it's like, I'm on my feet most of the time. And so like I barely sit down, but like just not working out and then, you know, running around with my son or doing different things and stuff has just kind of been so, such a blessing, like over the weekends to try to focus on that. And so my goal is to try to get my workouts in Monday through Friday and then have Saturday and Sunday with him. And there was times when I think like we had snow storms or things like that.

11:49I was like, oh my gosh, I just feel like I have an itch. Like I just want to go to the gym. And she was like, no, like it's fine. You know, just take this day off or whatnot. So it's just been such a mindset. And that's another thing. Like I didn't realize coming into the program that it's not just about nutrition and training, but it's, it's your mindset, which controls all of this. And I've never connected the dots before, before joining. Oh, so cool. So you feel like you've gotten like a whole like overall encompass, like of mindset, nutrition. My goodness. Yes. After joining, I even got a sign for our gym that says like progress over perfection.

12:22And so like I keep looking at it and I'm just like, yes, that's what it needs to happen. I can't, I can't strive for perfection because that's just going to hold you back from your goals. And, and to, to let life be what it is, right? Because you can't anticipate it. And so just figuring out how to navigate around it has been, has been such a blessing. Ladies, are you feeling frustrated with body changes you're experiencing during menopause? It's time to take control.

We're going to, we'll unpack that a little bit more, but I'm also curious. You mentioned the impact that I was having with your husband and your kiddo, like early on when you were doing all of this stuff and you're like working out, like, can you unpack like how that felt for you then? And what was the biggest change like that supported you in your journey with Warrior Babe that you,

14:00you feel like that there's been like a balance that now? Yeah. Yeah. I think, I think when I had first was struggling, just our relationship, I think was kind of taking a turn where I, I was constantly just worried about the way I look, how I fit in my clothes, not wanting to take pictures, not really wanting to dress up, go, go places. All those things kind of like essentially started piling up and just, I just didn't feel comfortable. And I think he realized that pretty quickly. And, and, and even with my son, like I just, I didn't have like anything negative against him,

14:33but just felt like, okay, you know, after I had him, all of these things kind of started happening. So it's like, you don't want to think in that way, but it's, you know, eventually it was just kind of like taking a toll on me. Um, and so when, when, when I realized that and, you know, had these kinds of conversations with him, uh, with my husband, we were just like, something has to really change. And, and, you know, it kind of just led me to worry about it. And since then, like, um, and I, I shared this with, with Coach Jess too, but like, I feel like I've, the, the journey that I've on has really helped him kind of pick up on things too,

15:06from, um, you know, incorporating, uh, workouts in his daily routine and eating better and healthier. And even, even my son, like he knows that I track macros now and he's five. And so he's like asking questions about that and like wanting to eat healthier. And, um, there's just been so many instances with him where, you know, he'll, he made his own little sheet cause he sees me using my fitness pal. So he's like writing stuff down that he's eaten or like draws it and then puts like a check mark next to it saying, Oh, this is healthy. Like stuff like that.

15:38You're up. Wow. You're making it emotional. That's amazing. Yeah. And I mean, I get questions with him, like when I'm, you know, eating, he's like, Oh, can I have a piece? But before that he's like, did you measure this? And I was like, yes, but you can have some. So it's just ingraining that kind of stuff. Like, you know, just thought process in his mind now. And just knowing like that you have to like feel your body appropriately to have the energy that you need. And even at this age, I mean, I know he's going to grow up and you know, there's going to be, he's going to eat junk food, no doubt about it, but just trying to educate

16:09him as much as, as I can now. And then, and then he sees my husband doing that too. And so we, we, you know, typically grill every single weekend. So he knows that we're outside grilling, getting everything ready for the week. We don't, I mean, just, he's just, he's able to see all the different changes. And I feel like since the journey, having my husband's support too, has made it so much like enjoyable and healthier. And we can talk about these things together. And I don't, you know, feel like I'm on my own little Island trying to like get healthier. And I've got his support too.

16:40So it's just been so nice. And he's doing it with you too as well. He's working out getting better. Yeah. He started in February and he's actually lost about 20 pounds in the last month and a half. And that's just by like incorporating the workout through. I know. Right. I'm just like, it took me like a year and a half to lose 17 pounds. And you're here within two, two months down 20 pounds. Just crazy. It's so annoying. It's so annoying. They can make it happen. They can make it look so easy too.

17:12Yes. She's like, yeah. All right. I just, I'm just down 20 pounds. But yeah, I know he's been doing such an amazing job and just helping me stay on track too. And we're always talking about, all right, so what's for dinner? Like we always, you know, kind of figure that out now. And like for the first year I was kind of on my own, but like he, since he started, you know, being more engaged and stuff with this too, it's just, it's just been more fun. And I just love it. That's incredible. That's so cool to see like how much of a role model you're being for your son. And it thinks he's going to be able to grow up learning and he'll implement like the 80, 20 rule. Like he'll have the jump.

17:42Exactly. Right. He'll know how to because of what, because of watching you. So cool. That's happening already at five. He's, he's, he's, he's amazing. He's, he's got a lot of like self-discipline too, because he'll eat, you know, a piece of dessert or something and he'll come and tell me, he's like, mommy, I already had dessert. Like he doesn't want it. So he'll just like, yeah. Yeah. So it's just like, I don't even have to like try with him. So he, I guess he knows the balance. That's so cool. Quick break. If you're finding this episode helpful so far, it would mean a lot.

18:15If you could hit pause for just a second, leave a quick rating or a review or share it with someone who could benefit from it. Your support helps more women discover these tools to build muscle, lose fat and feel confident. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me. Okay. So let's talk about, you saw us at warrior. You saw an ad on Facebook. Okay. What about that ad resonated with you? Like, do you remember what I was saying or what stuck out to you? I think a lot of it was around cardio.

18:46So I know like typically you've been, you know, you usually talk about women being in premenopause or menopause or post, but this one was like, are you doing a lot of cardio and still not getting the results you want? And I was like, that sounds a lot like what I'm doing right now. And then just kind of started. Yes. Exactly. And double cardio sessions in a day. She's talking to me. Yeah. That's exactly how I felt. So it was definitely about cardio. And then I wanted to just kind of listen to it more. And then like, just seeing you, you know, just your physique and seeing what you were doing

19:17and how like you were incorporating strength training and stuff. So I was like, that's kind of what I want to look like. So, you know, essentially just getting your physique the way you want it to be. Kind of really resonated and knowing that like what I was doing at that point wasn't really working for me. And so it just kind of went from there and then listened to different testimonials. And a lot of it, again, was like, you know, for women that were older and so and had different kind of backgrounds and stuff. But in my case, it was just more like what I was doing is no longer working. And so how do I change what it is now and how do I get better at it?

19:50So just kind of explored my options from there. I love that. And I know you mentioned you listen to the podcast too. And there was a lot of similarities in our stories in terms of Pinterest. And like I did a lot of cardio too starting out. I'm curious when you were doing the cardio, was there any fear of being in the weight room that you had? Like, did you have any fear of like walking into the gym and like doing weights? Or was it more so that you just loved cardio at the time and you didn't really think about the weight aspect? I think I was just comfortable in the cardio area. So I never really explored the weight training.

20:23And then again, it was always like, you know, crawling with men. So it's just like, all right, that's kind of their place. And the women go to the treadmills and elliptical machines and stuff. And that's just kind of like the breakout. But it's gotten, it's so nice to see like now going to the gym where like, you know, it's actually the opposite, which is really funny sometimes because I see like men on the treadmill and elliptical and the bikes. And then like the women are like on the Smith machine that they're doing like the free weights and stuff. So it's so cool. Women are slowly taking over the weight room. Yes. I love it.

20:53That's awesome. Yeah. So when you first, were there any fears around like joining the program? Like, did you have any hesitation? Like when I talked to warrior babes, they're like, I'm skeptical. Like, or like, you know, a lot of women that are older that joined the program, they're like, who's this chick talking about metabolic? I'm like, you know. She's 30 years younger than me. Yeah, exactly. Were there any thoughts or fears that you had about joining the program? Not really. I feel like I did. I did a lot of the research and like, you know, obviously like followed you on social

21:26media and then like, again, listen to the podcast. So and there's so many different testimonials that y'all put out there that it would I mean, it had to be true. Like there was just no way that this wasn't, you know, a real business or real thing. Before warrior babe, I've never explored other programs or other options because I never had the need to. And so like this was my very first one. So just thinking about it in that sense to like there was a little bit of hesitancy, but nothing to the point where I'm just like, OK, no, this is not this is not for real. Like it was, again, just the message that you were you're, you know, getting across and and just the way you were targeting your audience and really wanted to get get get your message

22:02across about about what it is that we're doing right now and how it needs to change. Had like just really sat well. And I didn't think twice about it. Love that. And I love that you even you saw the demographic was older. And I love that, you know, you thought maybe it might be too young, but for the program, but that didn't like that didn't stop you. No. Love that. Yeah. I felt like it's like it's still it's still really I could still relate to it. Yeah. Yeah. I love to hear that because I hope that other women don't feel like they're left out.

22:36Like I wouldn't be we wouldn't be able to help everybody, you know? Yeah. So I don't want to feel like they're left out just because we talk about menopause and all those things. Right. And I mean, and I took it in a way where eventually I know I'm going to be down that road. And so like learning about it now and getting getting everything that I need to, you know, learn about now to just set myself up for it when it when it does come time. I just thought would be beneficial. Love that approach. I love that. I love the perspective so much because you are you're really setting yourself up for success

23:07now for the later years of your life when you do walk into that phase. Yeah. Love that. OK, let's talk about like your initial like first couple maybe will like weeks with joining where there's some like early wins or like, you know, signs that like that this is this this is going to be this is going to work. I'm going to trust this process. Like were there any initial way? I would say like the first couple of months I felt like based on what my and I can't remember my macros and calorie intake were at the time, but the way it was set, I was

23:38definitely shedding pounds. And so and I think the thought was to like retrain and get get my my metabolism back to normal. And so we we took that approach and like by October, because I remember like in our Halloween costumes like a year and a half ago, I was like, oh, my God, this is crazy. Like I feel better. Like I feel so like nice wearing this or whatnot. And so we're all dressed up as like the jailer family and stuff. So like so I ended up wearing that. I was like, oh, this is I feel good in this.

24:09And then so like realize that like I mean, I was I was losing weight consecutively, you know, every every week or so. I was I was taking progress pictures and updating check ins and measurements and stuff. But I also realized like what I was missing from from my nutrition. And so how like just going in and just, you know, casually just logging everything you're eating to really bring awareness to like what it is that you're not eating that you should be or vice versa, what you are intaking that you shouldn't.

24:43And so that was very, very eye opening. And so I think for the first few weeks, I struggled a lot with that. And I had like all my numbers were like negative, negative. And so I had to go in and kind of figure out what is it and then just learning how to play with it to be able to like, you know, get it, get it to where you want it to be. It's definitely just something that you have to do to to figure it out. And yeah, it was it was it was a struggle at the beginning.

25:13And I feel like even now it's just like a lot of that stuff comes naturally to where if I do need to pivot or if something does come up that I didn't plan for, I'm not as overwhelmed with it as I as I was earlier in the journey where I'm like, oh, freaking out, like I don't know what to eat now. But it's more like, OK, if this doesn't work, I could do this, this and this instead. And so that's been super helpful. I love that reframe. You said you struggled a little bit at the beginning. When I want to like unpack a little bit, the macros side of things, because that is such a high like learning curve for people.

25:44And you came in not knowing anything about macros. So you toying with it, being the negatives and being OK, like you didn't give up. You just kept going because you were like determined to figure it out. And now you're saying it's like easy. It's like plug and play. Like now, I don't it's I don't think about as hard as I used to when I started. What would you because there's so many women that are like, oh, macros are so overwhelming. Macros are so hard. Macros X, Y and Z like they have so much resistance to trying something new that they stop before they even even allows them to give them the full picture of how can be supportive in their

26:17journey. What would be something that you would tell somebody listening to this that may be experiencing like I don't want to track macros. Tracking sounds too hard. Macros sound too hard. Like knowing where you are today with the outcome of it's just plug and play. And it's so easy. Like what would you tell somebody that's maybe meeting that resistance out of the gate? I'd have to say it's just like any other skill that you would learn. I don't think it's going to be it's just something that you you put your mind to it and you put all your effort into learning it.

26:48And then, you know, it gradually gets easier. It's it's not something, you know, you didn't give up on learning how to drive a car or learn a language or anything like that. And so so why this is not any different. You know, it's just it's it's it's hard because you don't know it yet. But once you do get it and grasp it and understand it, then it's just it's so much easier. Like, I mean, the whole day goes by already knowing what you're going to eat and you're not, you know, worried about it and picking things up that you're just randomly eating

27:19just because you're hungry. And then at the end of the day, feeling terrible about it. It's and yeah, it does take some time on the front end. So every night I track my macros for the next day and I know exactly what I'm going to eat. And and then just going into the next day makes it makes it so, so much easier. And then even when you have like, you know, social pressures of going out to eat or grabbing lunch with your co-workers or whatever, like it's so easy to say no now, like before just like, oh, I don't know what they're going to say or like, should I go? Should I not go? Or and I'm just like, no, I'm good.

27:50I pack my lunch and that's it. And then they stop asking. So it's just like. That's awesome. I love that. It's not as daunting to say no anymore, right? Right. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. It's pretty natural now. And so, yeah, I would just say just keep going at it, play with it and learn it. And eventually it sticks. And then, you know, there's been so many different like things that the coaches have kind of talked about, about like, OK, when you start planning, maybe put your protein in for the day so you know that that's locked in and then, you know, make sure you're getting you're hitting

28:21your fiber. Like there's different things that we could do to like make that easier so you know what you're left with. And so Coach Jess and I have always talked about like it's very similar to managing. Your finances like, you know, you're not going to spend more money than than you earn. So why would you spend more on your macros than you actually have in your bank? So it's just it's just a mindset shift. Oh, that's such a great answer. I love that. That's going to be so helpful for women listening to this. I hope that's a beautiful perspective on painting that picture for them of, you know, not leaning into the resistance, like overcoming the resistance and just giving it a try.

28:55OK, so now I'm really curious. You've been with us for how long? A year and a half. Uh-huh. March is a year and a half. Yes. Oh my gosh. That's incredible. So did you end up extending or did you? I did. I did. Yes. It was coming up. And then I think you guys were running your sale. And so the second year, you know, and it was funny because I had to have the conversation again with my husband from a finance standpoint. So like when we first initially talked about it, it was obviously a big commitment and just figuring out like from from a financial standpoint, like how are we going to be able

29:27to manage it? Like how is that going to work? And so the second year came around and I was like, I know we didn't talk about this, but like I really think that this is going to be super beneficial for me because first year was just, you know, just getting your feet wet essentially and just learning all the basics. But like now it's really executing it and playing around with it and just kind of seeing what you can and cannot do, what your body goes through when it does, you know, circle through or circulate through all the different phases. And I just love Coach Jess. I wanted to like stick it out one more year. And so I told her, I was like, yeah, this is the year that I really want to, you know,

29:58try to see if I can do a lot of these things on my own and be more independent. So like when it comes to like planning my workouts or nutrition, she like turns it around and she's like, what do you think you should do? Or how do you think you should handle this? Just so that, you know, she's setting me up for the future. And so that's been so helpful. And we're, you know, making notes as we're kind of going through. And she's really like challenging me to kind of think through a lot of these things on my own. And then I obviously come back to her and get her input on it too. But it's been great to just, you know, feel independent.

30:30That is primetime coaching right there. Yeah. Primetime coaching. Sorry, guys. She's capped. But yeah, she's primetime. She's so great. She is so great. She's awesome. Oh, I love that. That's so cool that you found your home with us. And it's for the time being in your fitness journey and that you're also learning how to navigate this. That's what makes it so invaluable to work with a coach because you get to not only learn and be educated on this, but also be challenged.

31:01Hey, how would I do this? How do I think through this? How can I do this on my own after, you know, you're done with art? Yes. Yes. Which is the ultimate success for our babes. Some of them stay for five years. Some of them stay a little bit longer. Some of them stay in two years and they graduate on their way out. So, you know, but no, I love that. Let's talk about your results. You talked a little bit there about how much you lost. Oh my gosh. And so, yeah, I went back to even like start, like go back to, you know, when I first started to see, so I joined in September of 2024.

31:33So a year and a half ago. And I have lost 17 pounds since I started. So, and then I lost five and a half inches off my hips and six inches off my waist, which I didn't even know I had that much to lose, which I was just like, man, that's, that's a lot. So. Have you decreased in pant sizes? Yes. Or have you, have you gained a booty? No, I've, I've decreased in pant sizes. Yeah. Yes. That's awesome. Yeah. But then still like, so right now I'm still at 1720, 1720 calories that I'm intaking while,

32:10while still maintaining all of this. Yes. In a cut phase right now. And so it's just been like, just like looking at the results going back. It's just, it's been incredible. Like I, I, I never knew that this could even actually happen. And, and I feel like, again, you know, relating to you, like, I always felt like the whole skinny fat version was always there, but like never toned and, and, you know, you could actually see your body and see the muscles and, and like work on, on reducing the fat around it.

32:40That was never kind of in the picture up until now. So I, I feel so, so confident in that sense. Yeah. Yeah. If you feel comfortable, you have a bicep flex. Yeah. You can be serious. Hey, okay, girl. With the delt line right there. What? Yeah. It was, yeah, it's just, I'm, I'm, yeah. That's amazing. So you can see like the muscle definition showing. Yeah, for sure. Like the tone is there. Yeah. The tone is there. I, you know how I feel about the word tone.

33:12I, I know you don't like it. The muscle definition is there. My, my husband's actually pointed that out a lot too. He's like, do you realize you see your arms and stuff? I typically don't just look at it on my own, but like, but when he sees me working, I was like, yeah, have you seen this? Like, this is crazy. And so it, it just boosts up my confidence even more. Yeah, girl. Oh, you should be so proud. That's amazing. And also like you've lost the weight, but you're not the number you thought you would be at, but you've gained more muscle definition.

33:43So, and that scale is going to creep up as you continue to put on some more definition, you hold on to more muscle or it's either going to, it's going to creep up a little bit. It's going to stay the same. I'm okay with that trade-off for sure. Yeah. Right. Right. Exactly. I love that for you. I know we were talking a little bit beforehand. You said that this was something that, you know, was a great, I don't want to take your words because I want you to say it. You said that this, this type of decision. Oh, the best decision that I've had in my life.

34:14Yes. Yeah. Yes. We're talking about that. Definitely. Definitely. It's been, it's, it's been so, again, just, just so rewarding. And, and I, I'm just so grateful because I think without having my husband's support in this and like just thinking where I would be if, if, if I still continue to, to explore things on my own or do what I thought was right this whole time, like I wouldn't be where I am right now. So, so just, you know, being, being able to just mentally and physically

34:45be where I want to be helps me be a better mom and just a better partner. And, and then, you know, rubbing off on them too in a positive way and just becoming that role model that, that I've always kind of wanted to be. And he's, he's our only one. So like just wanting to teach him, you know, all the, all the great things that are there and to, to know how important it is to have self-care and, and, and, you know, be persistent and just, yeah, just putting, putting good things out there for him to pick up on as he grows older.

35:15I love that. I talked about that. Like when we talked about the little bit of being role model for your husband and your son, and it's really cool. Like at the end of the day, that means that means so much to you because you're showing them the prime examples of like health and also if fitness, it's cool to hear, I mean, if you want to elaborate a little bit more to like your journey has been impacted by fitness, but like, how about like elsewhere in life, work, your partnership, your, with your son, like in other areas. Yeah. I think, I think that's, there's so many things that you've learned from the fitness journey

35:47in terms of just like, again, your mindset and, and looking at things from a different perspective and you can apply that all across. Yeah. Whether that's, you know, just lifting other, other people up at work and being better role models for them or just being available for my son as he needs me and, and just, you know, teaching him just the value of like inner strength and, and, and being resilient and all sorts of things that, you know, we, we typically kind of talk about on a week to week basis through either through community calls or our like team

36:19huddles. And it just, it has, it has a very profound impact on, on all areas of life, not just, just workout and nutrition, but, and then you just like physically feel better to do things and to be active and to, to, you know, be more, more involved with, with him. And, and he's a toddler right now, so he's got a bunch of energy. And so just being sure that I could, I could keep up with him. Yeah. You got to keep up with him on a daily basis. Yeah. Yeah. So that's awesome to hear. Um, it's been such a fun time here. You know,

36:53I've really enjoyed this time getting to know you more and hearing your story and where you were at the beginning and where you are now and just the, how worried they passed had such a positive impact on your journey. And also just like you executing the things because like from listening to the podcast for a year before and like executing on things and following through and what Jess is telling you to do. And like, there is, of course you, you know, like it's hard, um, or like eating more is crazy, but like you still follow through on you. You trusted the process. So I think that's really cool to hear from your story because it's really cool to see where you are now. You've obtained

37:25the results that you wanted. Yeah. Um, and you can keep, and you keep going. So I want to ask for any way that's listening to this right now, what would you say to a woman that is in the same position that you were in? Like who thinks that doing more, you know, more cardio, more workouts, more of this is the answer, but they're feeling exhausted and they're feeling frustrated and they're feeling defeated. What would you tell that woman that's listening to this right now? Yeah. I mean, if, if you're in the same boat that I was, I would definitely highly, highly,

37:55highly recommend looking into the program and, and just exploring your options here. And, you know, I mean, I did my due diligence, like you said, you know, listen to the, to the podcast and, and did the research to really understand what, what the program had to offer. But at the same time, like just trusting the process and knowing that, like, you know, as we do get older, our bodies do change and, and things that used to work in our twenties and thirties may not work. And so like figuring out kind of what that other next step is to be able to, you know, get back to where you want to be and, and, and achieve the goals that you want. And so, um, I, I, I,

38:28I feel grateful for not having to struggle as long, you know, of a, of a time as I did, but, but if there's other people that are out there that have kind of dealt with the same sort of issue where things used to work and you did a lot of cardio and didn't have any weight issues or concerns, but now you do like, you know, maybe this is, this is the, the, the answer for you as well. And, and so I would, I would just say, just, just look into the program. I mean, I, I don't regret it one bit. I think, I think it's got so much to offer. Um, it's not your typical workout program where, you know, they'll give you meals and workouts to do.

39:01And then that's it. It's just, there's so much more, um, you guys offer so much more. And so I, I'm just, I'm just grateful and just to hope that, you know, whoever is in the same position also seeks the same sort of help and assistance that I did. Oh, thank you, Naseen. I appreciate that. And anyway, listening, um, that feels that through and through to them and like, you know, you really resonated with it. There's links below. So this, this, this video, check out worry, babe.com apply. Like, what do you, nothing left, you nothing to lose, you know, like if it's not, if it's not for you, it's not for you. If it is,

39:32this could, this could totally change your trajectory of your entire journey and get you to where you want to be. But, um, Naseen, thank you. Your story for everyone that's listening, you know, it's such a powerful reminder that doing more isn't always better, but doing what is right is, um, you know, coming from being from overtraining to being exhausted to chasing, you know, more results that just weren't coming like to you and where you are now, like building strength, building confidence, building a lifestyle that actually works for you. And like, you're just so energetic and so happy and so excited for the changes that you're

40:06seeing and it's rubbing off. Like that's the most powerful part is it's rubbing off. It's not just changing your own life, but it's setting the example and the tone for your family and for the generations to come after your family with your son, which is so cool. Um, so yeah, it's been, it's been a pleasure like having you here, Naseen and listening to your story. And I would just like encourage you to keep going, you know, keep going. You're such a light in there. Um, and you've, uh, accomplished this incredible result so far. So, you know, keep going. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. I'm not stopping anytime soon. Thank you for having me.

40:38Of course. Yes. And as you continue to learn all the things, you know, I mean, you're, you're, you sound like you absorb the knowledge so well. So it'd be cool to see where you go beyond this and how you to just uphold the lifestyle of it and how it becomes more ingrained in your identity. Yes. Um, which is really cool. This is who I am now. Oh, I love that. Yes. Well, thank you, Naseen. I appreciate you being here. Yes. Thanks, Nikki.
